Shooting issue

I got the game today. Started it on hard, and just finished Vilcabamba. Looks very good, I'm overly excited. But I had some difficulties with the shooting. Do you really have to press R1 (as I'm on PS2) every time in order to shoot? Isn't there a way to change it by keeping it pressed like in Legend and the rest of the Tomb Raiders?

As far as I'm aware of you have to keep pressing R1. When you get the Uzis you can hold down R1.

Yep, you have to keep pressing R1. I was a bit frustrated doing this at first, but you'll get used to it after a while. And it adds a sense of realism to the game, by having to feel like you're pulling the triggers each time, rather than just holding it down as in the past.

Yeah, I know it looks more realistic. But it's also confusing cause you've got to keep pressing jump or roll and shooting at the same time when you're fighting an enemy and it all gets mixed up etc. I don't know about you, but I myself find it quite confusing. Guess I'll get used to it with the passing of time.
