I just beat the game and I feel like I'm done now. The game was not a disappointment but it felt too fast. The battle scene with Natla at the end was too short. I finally got the adrenaline dodge to work and it was cool but I thought the battle was way too short compared to the original. Though some of the levels were challenging, I felt that places where Lara should've been exploring were cut out. For instance Natla's mines was way too short. I mean common sense, If She had been digging for quite some time to find the Great Pyramid then the level should've looked exactly like TR1, where Lara had to go through a series of mines and underground areas to arrive at this alien-like pyramid. Even though CD might've got the detail and modernity of the game updated and more breath-taking, I think they lacked in recreating the story and making it more mysterious and spooky than the original. All the good parts were cut and there really wasnt an mystery in their version. That kind of sucked. The cutscene with the Skateboard kid and Kold was rediculous. It was way too short and I dont remember Kold being that cold. He was wacked out. I will say that Natla definately looked scary and cool at the same time. She looked a lot better than in the original. But now that I just beat the game, I am not sure if I want to do it all over again just to unlock some oufits and codes. Damn. I feel like I am just done with TRA. I feel like I want to play TRL (but just the Japanese Levels). Who knows may be I might change my mind. :o

I sort of felt that way too. I know the game was a decent length, but it still felt short because of the feeling that it was missing all of the little areas and side-routes from the original (I'm still happy with its length, though, because it did take a good 17-18 hours for me to win the first time). Just in case you were wondering, finding the relics unlocks the outfits. Finding the artifacts unlocks the art galleries and bios. Completing *all* of the time trials in a given location unlocks cheats. The relics are mostly quite challenging to get and are rewarding in and of themselves because of the feeling of finding them and actually succeeding in retrieving them :) But if you feel like the game is complete, then there's no sense in forcing yourself to replay it and ruining the feeling. (I don't know how many artifacts it takes to unlock, but if you can read the bios for Kold and Kid, it further sets up that cutscene with them, so I was kind of expecting something like that to happen...)

I'm only coming up on half way thru the game. I gotta tell you I am not looking forward to doing the TT's either. :( I tried for half a day to beat the TT for the manor before I finally beat that one TT. And then it didn't give me a damn thing for it! :hea: It seems like you have to beat ALL the TT's before it coughs up some rewards! Just doesn't seems worth the effort. Especially for some cheats that will eventually show up for gameshark... :mis: (maybe they'll have a cheat for completed all TT's... :whi:)

Not quite. You have to beat all of the TT in a certain location and then it gives you two cheats. The Atlantis TT weren't that bad, and they give you the one-shot-kill cheat. The Peru TT were a little bit worse because of the Lost Valley, but I still managed them. I'm not even going to attempt Greece or Egypt because I feel those levels were a bit more complex and I'd rather not ruin that feeling by discovering that I can indeed find a fast linear route through them :)

I've done the first four myself and don't plan on going through anymore. As one (of many I'm sure) who enjoys soaking up the atmosphere and taking my time to appreciate what's went into the levels, time trials greatly diminish my own opinion of how well constructed places are just because it's fully target orientated - which works in racing games and perhaps last levels where Location X is gonna blow and you gotta boogy out of there. But TR is about the environment as much as anything else to me...and blitzing past it all feels like a bit of a waste. I did them all on Legend but that was so much of a lesser game than this that I didn't really care as much.

I don't care for timetrials. I agreed BtoFu I like to really enjoy each level and not rush through it. I only did the Time trials in Legend for the rewards. What do you get for it in TRA?

It's wicked hard to do the time trials. Anniversary is starting to bore me anyway. Ive beaten it and got all the relics and artifacts. Same with the manor :confused: idk what to do excecpt tease the boss's with fly mode.

Saint Francis Folly is very hard on TT. I beat all peru and SFF is my last for Greece. The others weren't as bad for greece. Egypt Im a little worried about but Atlantis shoudln'y be too hard

About the adrenaline dodge - you have but 2 keys to press when performing that move - SHIFT + left or right OR SPACE + up or down. In Natla's case, the 2nd one applies, since you have to shoot her in the back ;) Side dodges 90% miss her...

I think that time trial are very intimidating and are not a good idea in games with gynormo levels with little linearity(sp?)

I mean, I never got tired of TRL! Over and over play, but I still love it so much! I thought TRA would be the same! :(

I think that time trial are very intimidating and are not a good idea in games with gynormo levels with little linearity(sp?) I think that could be a reason why I feel the way I do. I mean I went through all the trouble gettng this game and now that I've played it, I feel like I am done. I cant imagine trying to do the Time Trials for Khamoon. I felt they were a little hard as far as trying to hurry up and get through them. Time trials work better with games like Crash Bandicoot not Tomb Raider. I should'nt have to hurry through a huge level trying to beat a time that I am not sure I did beat (TRL was like that from what I remember...you didnt really have a meter to look at. Or may I am wrong on that).

Wow, you just explained my every thought! :yik:

Yeah especially after beating Natla, I was like "that was it?" I was expecting more. Kind of a let down, that doesnt encourage me to want to play again. TRL was more fun in finding the secrets and unlocking stuff but I dont know why TRA doesnt feel the same for me:(

I've been playing Beyond Good & Evil and TRA at the sametime, and BG&E seems way more interesting and challenging than TRA. I actually like that game. I still like TRA, but I might have to just let TRA rest while I take a break and do other things.

Hmm thats interesting. Well I dont mind rummaging around to find some more relics but those Time Trials, I dont know if I want to do it. I feel like a little kid trowing a tantrum:o. "I dont wanna do the time trials." *Wipes eyes :vlol:

I haven't completed the game yet, but I am going back to the levels I have completed and listening to the commentary I love the commentary. Did anyone here the one int he croft manor about the picture on the front arch way in the original?

Yeah I understand. I love Anniversary and I think it is actually a very long game, I'm stlil only halfway through The Sanctuary of the Scion and I'm stuck in the manor :( (I can't find the grapply :hea:).

I don't wanna be rushed through a level, that takes all the fun out of Anniversary! And I still have to find all the artifacts and relics, so basically I'll be replaying the levels for that.

I'll do the time trials eventually lol, just prolly not this time.

I've got four time trials left, three of which I know I can finish. Tomb of Tihocan is causing some issues though. I think it's worth it, I'm enjoying the bonus content. Just takes some practice. I like to go through the level once before doing the TT to refamiliarize myself with it, and I take note of my time and see if the TT is more or less that that.

The time trials in TRA do have a countdown in the corner of the screen telling you how much time is left. If you can live without infinite ammo, one-shot-kill, and invincibility cheats then there's really no reason to do the time trials :)

If you want a mild hint about the manor, hilight the following :) Have you thoroughly explored the library yet? You won't find the grapple, but you may just find what you need to get it elsewhere;)

Is that all they do? I'm definately not doing the time trials (wasn't really planning on it anyway). I also agree on the fact that trying to figure out a fast way through a level will ruin the exploration. Damn time. :hea:

There are eight cheats to be unlocked by the time trials (two for each location). I don't know all of them, but they include the cheats I mentioned above. There might also be a bonus for doing all time trials, but I don't know what it is. In any case, it doesn't seem worth it to me to ruin my favorite levels and go crazy doing a time trial just for some cheats :)

I donīt feel like doing the TTs yet, its just that some levels are too big to be done so fast and that I have to do some levels that I didnīt like too much, but I want the cheats so I will try to complete them.

That's exactly how I feel right now. Egypt was challenging and I dont know if I want to run through it and get killed a lot like when I first went through it. I died so many times in Obelisk of Khamoon with those poles and closing doors. I was cussing and saying the game sucked. I dont wanna do it again faster for a time.

But I might do it way later like a few weeks from now, so it seems fresh and new in my head:D

I know but I do them anyway. Gosh I must have tried many times for Lost Valley and Tomb of Qualopec.
