Updated the fly tool to work with TRL. I've tested it with my trl.exe which has the size of 29.8 MB and can be downloaded here (http://rapidshare.com/files/36756994/trl.zip.html).

Getting sick of TRA (I kinda ****ed it up completely) I started my conquest on TRL. So far, I managed to "transport" the fly tool, and was wondering of one thing. When you get access to the "Show Enemy Health" cheat, how does the health look like? Does it look like in TRA (top-right bar)? I managed to enable it without cheats, and all I see is numbers on screen. I'll show you a pic :

However, the bosses always have a bar on the top right. I'll keep you posted with more...
I tihnk it were only numbers, I only used it once :p. because it's not really a usefull feature. Good to hear your managing to make the fly tool work on TRL :D

I mentioned my trl.exe's size. That's why it doesn't work. I don't have the original game, so I used what I could find on the net (torrents). Also, the version of my TRL is 1.0 Mar 20 2006 (check it in-game in bottom right)...
So, for those having updated versions, just reinstall the game. Trust me, with this tool you won't need the update :D...

Overwrite your trl.exe with the one from the .zip and try TRLFly. It should work.
As for instructions, they are the same as the ones for TRAFly. Run the tool, run the game, press F11 to activate fly mode. Use 1 to go up or 2 to go down. Read more here : http://www.tombraiderforums.com/showthread.php?t=98045
I think it wouldn't work at all overwriting the exe file.
Most people are using the latest version (v1.2) of trl.exe coming from the official patch (http://www.tombraiderchronicles.com/tr7/updates.html), which updates not only the exe file but also the big files. And the exe file must match the big files, they must be of the same version, otherwise the game crashes.
May I suggest those memory locations be configurable in an external INI file? so no need to recompile the Flight Tool, but to update its INI file only. What do you think?
By the way, play the Kazakhstan level and try to access the Tesla zone: (no boss there ;-))

Just one hint: using the 'walk-thru-wall' feature of the Flight Tool is not enough.
I think it's past that phase where we all kept secrets, don't you think? If I wanted secrets, I wouldn't have made the fly tool. Speaking of which, partial credits go to Andrew (CodeReaver) for his helpful comments.
Regarding what "most people" have, I already said that you won't need an update, since you can go through walls, hence any former bugs are out of the way, if a problem occurred...
I guess you want to know it without trying to find it yourself.
It wouldn't be fun if I said how it's done in the first place.
And finally, I don't think that's a secret at all.
If I correctly remember how to access that Tesla zone,
it would involve the command-line argument -CHAPTER,
which seems not to work with version 1.0 ...

No need to use -CHAPTER to access the Tesla zone.
Just start the game, and fill 0xFFFFFFFF at 010E52C8, and load the savegame where you're just about to open the door to the boss room of the Kazakhstan level, then you have it. Maybe it's only a texture effect, nothing to do with Tesla :p
Regarding the loading of levels directly, we can do it like in TRAE (http://www.tombraiderforums.com/showpost.php?p=1895898&postcount=28), you can find a bunch of level names in Legend's bigfile.002
However, I still don't know what is the correct way to use -CHAPTER, -CHAPTERVARS, along with the others -EASYCHEAT, -NOHINTS...

Am I supposed to download the trl.exe and the trlFly.exe? Because I did that, and I had TrlFly.exe running when I played Trl.exe. When I did that, Trl.exe crashed when it started...:confused:
And if I don't 'update' the trl.exe to the one you posted, then the cheat doesn't work, but the game doesn't crash...:confused:

Actually the patches were to fix problems with the game, such as no walk button, graphics glitches and problems for those using gamepads, so we do unfortunately still need the updates. l am sure those enthusiastic enough could simply reinstall the game again in order to test the fly mode out.

If you run the origional game just with the TRL fly mode program only and not using the downnloadable TRL.exe, you can get it to work, but...
I have tried three different levels so far, and discovered this..
Bolivia... no problem, hit F11 to start and 1 & 2 to go up and down smoothly.
Japan... again hit F11 to start, but the 1 & 2 buttons are sticky, ie, the program is only recognising the up & down signal spuriously, but it still works if you hit a 1 or 2 by tapping, then watch to see lara jerk up or down a few seconds later. Warning: sometimes she can go fast doing this and flys out the bottom of the map before you can stop her :hea:

so we all miss out basically
Uhm. Don't enable fly on floating coffins or when you're in water. Enable it only on flat surfaces you can walk or stand still on :D The aforementioned have glitches (if you enable it in water, you can't move; if you enable it on some floating box or coffin in some maps, you float as if the current dragged you away - since the coffin/box is "propelled" by the current, you get the same properties) etc...
I can't download the Fly tool - I keep getting a virus alert message. :(
^ Good for you. Those messages are false positives. Disable your AV and move on. How many people are still gonna tell me that o_O? Really, it's starting to become annoying...

You can now get to the areas that other beers, sorry, programs, cant reach :vlol:
^ Ahaha. I used to drink a lot of those while making the programs. It's a pain in the ass IMHO to make a tool for every freakin (oops) version of the game. I'll stick with tutorials from now on :)

I have the following questions:
1. Is there any way to increase/decrease Z without the Flight Tool, I mean, using CheatEngine? How did you find that and implement it for your Flight Tool?
2. How to make 'going-thru-wall' and increasing/decreasing Z work even when Lara's on a bike? Is there even a way to do that?

the heath cheat in Legend have no scence.
I could really use something like that in TRA.
There's an artefact/relic I'm unable to reach, but if I could fly, it would be easy to get to.
I don't know much about your program, but I'd like to be able to turn it on off.
I would only use it in situations where I really needed it where my normal skills are incapable of helping (like that artefact/relic mentioned above).

I finished TRA one week ago, and now I'm on TRL.
Unlucky, I got several trouble on some areas, which need I use kinda flying tool.
So, I saw you have released one, but I can get it to work.
Why ? Because, like as so many people all around the world, my game is version 1.2.
Original one (1.0) doesn't run at all, every time I try it, the game went back to the desktop.
The point is : I'm totally stuck in TRL, and it will be nice from you to release a try tool for version 1.2 too please. Else I'll put the game in the trashcan, because the location where I am stuck gives me lots of angry => the previous checkpoint is very far from Lara :(
Notice that, I uninstalled TRL 1.2, when installed 1.0 like Sunbeam told in another topic.
I hope a lots of people will ask an upgraded fly tool too lol

I didn't noticed there is a tool like this one, but I don't know how to use it and how it is working.
I don't want to screw up my savegames (hardly done), this is why I though using the fly tool will be better.
I used the TRAFly aswell, and it is very useful and a wonderful tool ;)
Maybe Sunbeam will release an updated version (I hope ! I hope !)
I'll put an eye on the save modifier, maybe it can do the job...
It's not a modifier, it just installs new savegames. You can keep your old ones :p
Open the installer, and select the save after the point you are stuck. Run TRL and select that savegame, continue ! :D

It's not a modifier, it just installs new savegames. You can keep your old ones :p

Yeah, it includes a save at my stucking place, and now, I can continue the game.
The bad new is : my current status is 33 %, and the used save is 38 %.
Not good, because I would get a score from mine, with my "own art of play".
This is why I believe a new updated TRLFly would be GREAT and much appreciated by TRL community.
Last, but not least, I saw there are 2 different TRAFly trainers released.
Why do not do the same with Legend ?
I can't find every variant of the game ever released (there is the official one, Steam version, pre-release, demo, etc...). If I do it, I will do it for one only. If I do it for all, when game updates again, I'll have to update again (all of them)...
Ok, I suggest you to do only TRLFly for versions 1.0 and 1.2.
TRL is old for now, and I believe the 1.2 was the latest, final version.
About Steam : I know it's a pain in the xxx, because this version needs some parameters when starting game.
And I join my TRL.exe if you need it : http://harFanGW.free.fr/trl-1.2.rar (right click, save as)
Please, if you have some time to spend on it, release this wondeful fly mode :)

Finally worked out where that exe came from(l know l am dumb) Uninstalled my game cleaned the registry and am installing the game now, finally l will be able to use the flytool :jmp:
I'll make it universal. Have it scan an array of bytes (hopefully they will remain the same) to find the address where to patch and save it in an .ini. Then load it from the .ini, and write to it. Expect an update soon...

Just tried it and it doesn't work for me too (I tried with your .exe file too, I have the patch 1.2 installed). Don't wanna uninstall and reinstall the game without the patch to be able to run it (I find the patch necessary to play comfortably).

Sorry for asking, but how is the progress of the TRLFly 1.2 ? I'm really waiting for it (the 1.0 version of TRL strangely doesn't work on my computer so I need the 1.2...).Before you say it does not work, I have found some levels seem to have very intermitant key presses, for example in Japan.
So make double sure that the key presses (1 & 2) are not just a case of being noticed very slowly by the program, rather than not working at all.
The first test for this is to press F11 and see if you go through walls, then press 1 or 2, they can take a while to register on the Japan level, then you go whissing up or down too far and is quite hard to control compaired to other levels, but it still works :D
When you get this problem of intermitant key presses, you just have to press a little bit at a time, and keep moving horizontally, then Lara eventually moves vertically. You can then learn how to control it, instead of flying out the bottom of the level at high speed :p

Perhaps you could ask in technical help how to get the 1.0 version working on your PC.

If you have the patch installed, you need to uninstall the game and install the 1.0 version from the original disc. If you used the SCU, make sure you either rename or delete the /tr7 folder on the same drive you have the game or it will crash when you start the v1.0 trl.exe!
@The Great Chi: I don't have any problems with the keys, and game runs smoothly - as same as the keys do, when being pressed. Make sure you don't have any anti-virus or monitoring utility that blocks hooks. The tool uses RegisterHotkey API, and if anything blocks it, then that explains why it's working so slow (intermitently as you say)...

I managed to get the 1.0 game working on my PC, but it crashes more often and the next-gen mode is not optimized...

c) Am using a No-CD patch which can be found here - link (http://www.speedyshare.com/164363975.html) (trl.exe zipped - 4.36 MB)

I played the demo, and wasn't too pleased of what I saw. Decided not to spend a nickle on it, especially when most of the actions/stuff in-game was "ported" from a game I've mentioned in many times. But since this is Crystal Dynamics, I was expecting that move.
Hope they decide to change the engine for TRL2, and maybe - just MAYBE - I'll buy it ;) Other than that, 90% of the people on these forums, although not willing to "expose" themselves, are just like me. Mass-downloaders :D
P.S.: They should make a special vBulletin group for us :D

hmmm... well if you downloaded the patch and replaced it with the legend one AND clicked on it to install it (just making sure u did all this:)) it should work. it worked for me and i did exactly the same things.
by the way, i just noticed im using TRLFlyv3. i dont know how it works but it does:D

Can someone give me a tutorial on how to get this goddamned thing to work? I downloaded V.1, but it's not working. It didnt work with V.2 either, so i tried V.1. HELP!
Launch the game, then launch the tool. When you are playing press F11 to enable the fly mode, press 1 to go up and 2 to go down. Press a second time F11 to disable it. That's all. :wve:
I meant how to get it to work, I know how to use it, I've got the TRAFly mod. All i had to do with that was open the downloaded file, and then play the game. This is all complicated. I downloaded another trl.exe file which was 29.8mb, and then i opened the V.2, with the game already running, and it didnt work. AGAIN.
This is weird... This come certainly from your version of the game.
I've got the PC Gamer version on PC.
Is it patched ? I have installed the patch 1.2 and everything works well with me. :)

Ho ho ho. Merry X-mass. Ups, got carried away. Long time no see, friends :) Haven't had the time to work up on it, but I promise as soon as I get some, I'll post the new version. Glad you still like it, yet you shouldn't buy the game just to use the tool LOL :D

Getting sick of TRA (I kinda ****ed it up completely) I started my conquest on TRL. So far, I managed to "transport" the fly tool, and was wondering of one thing. When you get access to the "Show Enemy Health" cheat, how does the health look like? Does it look like in TRA (top-right bar)? I managed to enable it without cheats, and all I see is numbers on screen. I'll show you a pic :

However, the bosses always have a bar on the top right. I'll keep you posted with more...
i followed every rule and everything worked except the flying!!! for some reason she didn't fly when i pressed 2!! :confused:

Num pad won't work - use the regular number keys, 1 to go up and 2 to go down. Btw, this may seem like a silly question, but are you just pressing the numbers only once? You have to keep holding them to really see a difference.
I can't get fly to work for me..
I open game and enable TRLfly. nothing happens. I press the buttons spose to be pressed. nothing. zipp. Zilch. nada. :mad:

If anyone has any time could you please post a detailed step by step instruction list starting with the download??? Im extremely slow when it comes to this stuff!! lol. Im not a big PC Gamer!! :o
I tihnk it were only numbers, I only used it once :p. because it's not really a usefull feature.
I beg to differ! This way if its a dark place and you couldn't see the enemies, the numbers show you where they are, so that you can either grenade them, or avoid that area! I really liked this feature. Much better than the one in TRA.

Hey.... I have the same version.. The 29.8mb one.... Its also 1.0 March 20 2006 at the main menu.... But, it still doesnt work!! Please, please try to make another!! Mine isnt original..... Thank a million!!!!!

In AVG for a "friendly virus", I do these steps:
Click Resident Shield > Click Manage Exceptions > Add Path (find the folder)
(But sometimes, an AVG update will erase all of my Paths, above.)
And sometimes, you have to add the folder that you unzipped the virus to.
^ That's not the virus actually - more of crappy maintained antivirus :)
All patches offered from TRF/TRHub are totally virus-free. Period.

Can you make a fly tool for TRU?We will have to wait till Sunbeam gets a computer that will play TRU before he can find where the 'up and down' code is, and modify the flight program to suit.
