Who still has much more fun playing Tomb Raider than Tomb Raider: Anniversary?

As good as the original game is, I always found the controls annoyingly sluggish... so I personally like TRA more.

It's just different. I enjoy the fast play and the new posibilities in Anniversary, but sometimes I feel like playing with the old controls. I get the same "amounts of fun", it just depends on which one I feel like playing :D

I agree, it's different. I enjoy the game play and scenes in TR with the original control setting. And yet I like the graphics of TRA.

Anniversary nails the 'epic' feel much more with the dramatic music and lush environments. Controls are also more fun, so yeah, I prefer Anniversary.

BUT but but... there are a few (story) points which the original did so much better. Ready? Here we go *takes a deep breath*

1) Intro, much better seeing Natla in crystalised form than watching her flying out, was more mysterious the original way.

2) They don't mention Atlantis near the beginning of the game at all

3) Natla's motive in the original game was because she felt evolution had screeched to a halt and wanted to kick-start it again, by releasing monsters onto the human race to ignite a fight for survival, meaning only the strongest humans would survive. That was WAY cooler than Anniversary's 7th age ********.

4) Natla, herself, was just plain cooler in the original game.

But those points aside, Anniversary is still a more fun game overall :)

Yeah Natla looks wierd in TRA but I still think TRA was great

TR1 was not self-indulging, yet: it had what it needed and that's it. It was Prince of Persia in 3D, obscenely difficult but impossible to let go. Being able to get past the game's graphics, formula and controls as compared to nowadays' products is a great accomplishment to understand games of the past :D

Of course you are not. The new game is for kids and the original is for ... well, tomb raiders. :D ... well, for people who are into challenging games.

So far I have really enjoyed Anniversary. But I don't think Anniversary can top the original. I mean Anniversary is a new experience with the original, but I don't think it can beat it...
