Bacon butties, and lamb chops, slurp. What would life be without proper food eh? Cut their heads off and sizzle them in pans, that's what I say!

Carnivores VS Hrebivores:

Comming soon to a Tomb Raider Forum near you.

One of the theories of veggi'ism(?)is that it lowers the aggression factor!. I wonder if this is true?

Since I swing both ways, I'll have to watch from the sidelines of this battle.

It's simple dietary suplementation. Red (and white) meat give you certain protiens, enzymes and such that you cannot find in the plant world.
Isn't it all about moderation?

Veggies Vs Dead animal eaters? YAWN

It's never an argument for me. If you want to eat dead animal, that's up to you, you are welcome. Just know this:

We vegetarians can smell you a mile away - because your sweat stinks of dead flesh. If only you knew how much....

mmmmm sausages, lips and eyes wrapped in bowel.

GeorgeM
09-06-03, 09:09
Well, I wouldn't go out with a veggie. Cabbage brains just don't do it for me I'm afraid. If you veggies want to be stupid, that's okay, but don't spew your sanctimonious **** over me because I enjoy my food, okay?

And by the way, God Himself invented meat for eating. Or do you think it's wrong for animals to eat each other?

Actually I read somewhere, that the claim you can get more protein from meat is untrue. If anyone goes vegetarian, you just have to remember to eat a balanced diet possibly with a vitamin supplement, that way your body can receive the necessary nutrients it needs.

And personally I'm not trying to force vegetarianism on anyone, because my philosophy is to do your own thing. Yes, I used to be an avid meat eater, but I really went with vegetarianism as a change. I needed something new in my life, and this is what I chose. If I knew this was going to turn into a discussion of what's morally right and wrong I wouldn't have commented.

Me, I'm doing it both ways actually. I do eat meat so I can't call myself a vegiterian, but I always go veggie when a certain friend of mine comes by...

I'd give meat up if only I didn't live in a house full of meateaters that makes me buy and cook my own dinner all the time when I don't want what they're eating... Oh, and I really love those bbq's in the summer when my father is cooking... mmm, what he does to that meat is just a slice of heaven...

Hi Annacia,

Wedding plans going nicely thanks. *extract from wedding journal* 'Last week we went to finalise plans with the Vicar, sorted out the flowers, sorted out how I am going to have my hair and sorted the mens suits. This week we are going to compile our final wedding guest list, and go and order our rings' *breathes again* Hectic.

I have a really lovely recipie here for goats cheese and mushroom stuffed pasta shells but it takes a little while to cook. Definitely worth the wait.

Come on you veggies, wake up. If you think it's acceptable social behaviour to go round telling good honest hard working people that they 'stink of dead flesh' because they enjoy bacon butties, think again. It's NOT acceptable, and I certainly won't put up with it.

So there.

Don't be mad George, I totally agree with you. The Budgies don't try to stop the lion from eating the zebra, and what are we, if we are not just another animal? The way I see it, humans are the top of the food-chain, so we pretty much get to eat whatever we like. You may not like my choices, and I may not like yours, but such is the power of personal choice! I don't try to push vegetarianism, buddhism or any other -ism onto anybody, 'cos frankly I figure that everyone gets to choose who they are and what they represent.

I thought I may as well chime in with smarty-pants remarks (dissertation alert!). I studied human nutrition at the graduate level. What we need is amino acids. There are about 20 different ones. They are found in protein. Doesn't matter what kind. You can get a full complement from meat, eggs, milk, etc., or from veggies, legumes, and grains. It can be a little challenging to switch to vegetarianism because you have to learn how to get the full complement of amino acids from multiple sources. For example, beans and rice provide the full complement of amino acids.

Regarding self-righteousness, let me remind everyone that it exists on both sides of this argument (not on this forum necessarily, but among meat-eaters and vegetarians alike). We are fortunate that we haven't seen the people who eat meat but are simultaneously against hunting and fishing. Many meat eaters would never pluck a chicken or skin a deer unless their life depended on it. And for many people in this world, their life does.

Myself, I'm a fisherman (trout and bass). I grew up eating native brookies for breakfast, lunch and dinner while camping. Fresh brook trout cooked over a fire is amazing.

But I have great admiration for vegetarians!

I have to admit that every now and then I miss meat. Then I'll see it and I remember why I don't eat it anymore. When you haven't had meat for a long time it starts to look very unappealing and can make you sick almost. Not just because of what it is but it's your body that builds an intolerance for it. That's why vegetarians act squimish around meat, we can't help it. It's nothing personal. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Neteru
10-06-03, 09:18
GeorgeM, I have made absolutely no pretence of righteousness whatsoever. I have stated clearly that I have no problem with anyone eating meat (in and of itself). What I said about meat eaters smelling of 'dead flesh' is merely a statement of fact from my point of view. Meat is dead flesh. I as a vegetarian (along with many others), can smell that on meat eaters. If that truth troubles you, it is your problem, not my 'santimoniousness'. You started this topic:

Bacon butties, and lamb chops, slurp. What would life be without proper food eh? Cut their heads off and sizzle them in pans, that's what I say!

Mmmmmmmmmmm....meat! If you think you can post controversially with impunity, then I am sorry, but as many of the other posts here convey - you are wrong.
