Atlantis :jmp:
Probably Natla's Mines!! I spent so long just going around in circles - couldn't work out what to do. Also - I never actually properly finished it (never got the last fuse) - there was a huge glitch where the suspended building ended on the floor!!
Here is a screenshot:

I will need to redo that level (now know what to do :)).
Yeah it was Natla's Mines for me too.

mine was definitely city of khamoon, as it took me roughly 8 years, lol!!! me and my dad always played tomb raider, then one day got stuck on that level and never played the game again, until 2 years ago! another factor might have been that i was playing TR1 on the Saturn, and whilst i was stuck, i won a PS on a radio show so never went back to the saturn :(

The Cistern. But the Palace, the S.O.S., and Atlantis are ALL up there on my list, too!

Palace Midas. Especially the room with the flaming pillars. Took me six months to get through that. I must have killed poor Lara hundreds of times.

Palace midas also, Atlantis.

Are you kidding me? I got past the flames on my first-ever try!
The longest level for me was probably The Cistern :hea::hea::hea: Despite how cool the majority of TR fans say The Cistern is, I HATE IT! Hate hate hate. I'm so glad it was, like, demoted in Anniversary.

Longest level for me, believe it or not is the Colloseum. God I hate that level!
St. Francis Folly and the Cistern were relatively shorter during my first play through.
Natla's Mines was boring and dragging which made the level seem longer than it actually is.
Natla's Mines or Atlantis for me

Cistern, going everywhere just for one switch! Loads of places to explore in CIstern that you just cant find the place.

lol just me that got stuck on palace midas then xD
I am still stuck at the obelisk because of a problem so I think its St. Francis Folly
For me, well I think it would be The Cistern...:D
I finished the Cistern in a snap wich doesnt make it a long level but the longest level is The st.Franicss Folly
Atlantis was a very long level & frustrating for me, You had to go all the way to the top of pyramid, It took me an hour to just complete that level. :hea:

I beat the game over 145 times so I'm not really stuck on any level as far as I'm concerned.
THE CAVES. OH THE DREADED MOUNTAIN CAVE! *Pulls hair out*
Totally joking by the way. :p

Atlantis. I miss that level in Anniversary.

Tomb Of Tihocan. When I filled that Basement-ish room up full of water, after you fought Pierre, I jumped in, but never saw the room you could pull up in out of the water, so I was stuck on what to do lol.
Atlantis.
That level has been terribly missed...:o

On my first playthrough many years ago, i remember getting stuck on Natlas Mines for what seemed like an eternity because i could'nt find the lever to open the door by the conveyor belt, but that aside i would have to say Great Pyramid, this is one huge testing level, Fantastic!
I remember that Palace Midas was long.
The Cistern for me. I still get lost some times:hea:

I never got the fuses in Natla's Mines ... I never knew you had to!! :vlol:
The longest would probably be ... hmm ... Atlantis/Sanctuary of the Scion.

I´d been in Natla´s Mine for the longest time...but the actual longest level is Atlantis.
I believe that's Natla's Mines. The first time I played, I finished the level without getting all the fuses (I missed one). However, I was able to finish the level without pistols - I was just running away from enemies (also spent the most of the medipacks while running away)
And, when I reached Atlantis, I got my pistols at the start of the level (do not ask me how, they was just there) :)
It took me ages to finish The Lost Valley and Atlantis.
Mostly because I somehow managed to miss Items or a switch, as I'm always in a hurry.
And then the realization of running past said lever/item about 20 times...oh dear.
Sadly enough i'd probably have to say the caves...As i was 7 when I first played and nobody told me how to pull out her guns...or jump...or pull levers...or use medi-packs...So it took me about an hour just to get past the bats...Luckily I avoided the wolves...Cried when I fell down and the bear attacked me...:cln:
I think overall it took me in excess of 2 hours...But when I finally did finish...
:yah::yah::yah::yah::yah::yah::yah::yah::yah::yah: :yah::yah::yah::yah::yah:
I haven't finished it yet, but i think the longest is Sanctuary of the Scion. In TRA , it's longer as well :p
St Francis Folly gets me everytime. It takes ages, even now, but not becasue it's all that long really, but because of the sheer volume of mistakes I keep making :o
To Me The Longest Level was Caves!( just kidding! I wanted to say Sanctuary Of Scion!)
Tomb raider legend(england)(groft manor and west africa):)
Now that i think about it SOS was my longest level, I spent hours climbing around on the cliffs in the Sphinx room.

From what I know of, you can't access any other area but your room and the gym.
Cistern is definitely the longest

Cistern is definitely the longest
A classic, and the one level which always inspires me to play TR time an time again. :D

I think the Cistern took the longest for me to get through the first time. I'd made the mistake of flipping that switch in the room where you first encounter Pierre early on, and that completely threw me off.
It also took an unusually long time for me to get through Palace Midas. I missed one of the lead bars and had to backtrack to find it again (the one you get from that room that takes you on an unreasonably long trek across the level).
I suffered a bit through Natla's Mines as well, and made it through by triggering that bug which causes the building with the pistols to collapse before it's supposed to.
The time taken for these levels was typically 1:4X.XX
Probably Caves, which took me many years because back then, I wasn't any good at making jumps. I'd always land in with the bear and get killed.
On a more serious attempt, I'd guess Natla's Mines took me the longest, especially since I thought I was supposed to try to run past the cowboy, and kept getting shot.

Palace Midas or Cistern :) They were quite difficult for me when I was younger...I took a serious amount of time to finish them

Palace Midas was one. I remember doing the folley on XMAS DAY 1996 and was on Palace Midas on DEC 31ST and my Nan called me and told me to get of my game and come down and celebrate the new year as it was 11.50pm. I got the 3rd led bar (trek round the level) and just did it at around 11.58pm and sped down to celebrate new year 1997. The Cistern i actually couldnt do and like TYRANNOSAURUS i flipped the switch first but i managed to get myself into a situation where i couldnt get 1 of the keys and had to start the level again. But the longest for me was OBELISK OF KHAMOON. Took me an age to find the hidden ledge in the mummy room that leads to the switch for the SCARAB. Never forget getting onto Sanctury and being in awe of the underwater room. The mines was my fluke level and i did it on my first day of play. Il never forget sliding down the slope at the end of the great Pyramid to finish the whole thing. Was the first game that took me on a trip and i didnt enjoy anything in my life as much as that until FFVII

Santuary of the Scion, prolly. In that huge underwater area, it took me forever to find out what to do because of its huge size and the fact that I didn't want to go too low and sufficate and my eye generally scans over underwater switches, that is, untill now :hea:

On my last playthrough, Atlantis definitely seemed the longest, but i had serious trouble with Natlas Mines because i couldn't remember where that switch was which open's the door leading to a leaver that operate's the conveyor with the fuse on it, such a nightmare but great fun.
In my opinion:)... Palace midas and cistern are the longest levels:jmp:...

Oh man, something very simmilar to me! I also was on Palace Midas on Dec 31st, 1996 :D
Thought this over: Natla's Mines
Atlantis was the longest, but not the one I've spent most time on.
Midas definitely longest level in TR1
