View Full Version : The 'Where are they now?' thread
...meaning featured members.
Today's is Kurt Lemley, who registered in October of 2001 for the sole purpose of making just 1 post. Pay your tributes here to the life, the loves, and your greatest memories of the man who never could quite remember what the address to the site was when he woke up the following morning. I'd like to begin if I may....
Me on Kurt Lemley....
Kurt, huh? He errrr. He was a really great guy. I liked him a lot. His post really touched me really deeply. I miss him. He was cool. He was one of those posters whose posts could always brighten up your day, even though he only did so once. But I know he would have done so on numerous occasions had he come back. I still miss him round here. The place isn't the same. You know, I get a tear in my eye sometimes when I think of the days when Kurt was around. (Sorry, I meant to say 'day'). I don't know where you are now fello Raider, but.....This Budweiser is for you. Stay chilled dude, wherever you are..
Ok, that's enough. I could have paid tribute to today's featured member a bit longer, but I didn't want to go over the top or anything.

Often wondered about this myself... http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif It should pick people that are at least somewhat active around here... http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/bash.gif
That'ns good for a belly-laugh, Scottlee. It looks like 'ol Kurt tried to delete the message by editing it down to nuthin'!

That's cos you're the Forum Darlings and there would've been a widespread revolt if the star cross'd lovers of Tomb Raider hadn't got a mention right up front! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/hug.gif

The featured member is being selected by the server randomly. It doesn't have to do with the number of the posts. In any case, we have to be very careful and keep this thread just in "fun mode" http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
No need for worries then, ELEN, we're all just havin' fun here! No hard feelings!! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

I knew Kurt way back from Vietnam. Never saw him actually - same unit, different missions... you know the drill. You could call him the best sneaker of the front. So stealth that even his brothers-in-arm still alive today wish they had seen his face even once in their life.
I got a call from him after he posted here his last post - OK it was his first too, but does that really matter? I wasn't at home this one night - busy boozing alone at the local bar, that kind of stuff. The old buddy just left me a message. Never could listen to it though. He had changed his mind in the meanwhile and deleted it right before I was back. Don't know what he had to tell me but the guy's always been too emotive. I wish he'd sent me an SMS instead.
I miss ya d00d.
Seems we missed out on meeting a great character.
:(
It's touching to see one of our own so fondly remembered. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif
Annacia...you really know how to bring a tear to the 'ol eye...all the times me 'n ol'...who?...could have shot the breeze together...well it's dust in the breeze now... :(

Ah Scottlee, Scottlee. See what you started? Now Kurt will reign supream as the best remembered member to post. Albeit, a single post but the poetry of it will sing through the halls of the forum as lightly as a spring breeze.
Imagine what might happen if he returns...
Hehe, or not have any idea who we are talking about...but it does appear he used his real name, so it might work...
Anyone have an email address...hehe
01/16/2002 -- SportsPilot, Inc. today announced that the City of McKinney, Texas Parks and Recreation Department will immediately begin using SportsPilot’s Internet-based, on-line registration and data management services. McKinney Parks and Recreation Department's use of the system will provide an enhanced level of service to citizens who want to register for sports and other activities. Instead of driving across town, standing in line, and filling in forms, McKinney's citizens will now be able to register from home or office, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week using any Internet-connected computer. "We're excited to offer this new service to our citizens", says McKinney's Athletic Coordinator, Kurt Lemley. "Everyone will appreciate the savings in time and gasoline plus, an added benefit is that we expect to get more accurate registration data when the citizens enter it themselves. As the city continues to expand we’ve seen dramatic growth in our registrations and we have been searching for a way to improve our older, paper methods."
Now we *do* have a clue why he leaved in such a hurry - he had to choose between starting a whole new life based on raider friendship and sugar smileys, or waiting in line for the gasoline.
But if you ask me, I guess ol' Kurt was actually onto something. Something BIG (http://mckinneytexas.org/parks/athletic.htm).
Call him at 972-547-9452 or e-mail him at klemley@mckinneytexas.org. Let's just pray it's really *our* Kurt Lemley!

Nice Googling Kaminari.
Let's re-cap:
Kurt makes one post.
He is made an instant legend on the Forum.
We search him out using modern technology.
Next step: we systematically and repeatedly harrass him at his work place! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/shout.gif
That would teach him for leaveing our forum!
