ok first off, this game is amazing and i love it but is it just me or is there something missing? i dont mean a part of the game but the addiction! i ve played most of the tomb raider games out there and ive been addicted to most of them! especially legend! even though TRA is a good game, with good graphics and all that, i still am not getting addicted! i mean, i keep finding myself waiting for it to get on with the story! im in egypt at the moment and i know that there isnt that much left untill i finish the whole game and yet i dont feel like i know what is going on or anything, i cant really explain it! does anyone know what im talking about? i loved the fact that legend was short and to the point! so what im saying is that i prefer short and satisfying games to long and unsatisfying ones!

i didn't care for legend, and it was damn short. TRA is still a little short imo but its amazing none the less. I do somewhat agree with you that i wasn't as "addicted" to it as the original or even the 2nd game. I think it might have something to do with me not being a kid anymore like i was when the original first came out. I find myself becoming less addicted or obsessed with games as time goes on. Maybe i'm just pickier now and theirs very few good games comming out these days, or maybe i've just grown up :(

The problem, I feel, is the difficulty with some of the jumps. In order to feel the addiction, the player also needs to feel like the fun stuff progresses without major impediment the 2nd or 3rd go round, especially since by now the player would kinda know what is going to happen or what needs to be done. However, with TRA, jumping obstacles makes the player think, "do I want to go through all that hassle again just to play a game again?"

Perhaps we will become masters of jumping through hoops and the game will have a lot of appeal for replays. My view is that Legend had this appeal because it was so very easy. It was basically nice to do all of the gymnastics without dying 100 times. With TRA, the barriers make you pause before picking up the controller or keyboard for a 2nd go-round.

TRA isn't even long.. Well.. in the modern day scale it might be  But I felt Anniversary was really exciting and fun to play. It definately wasn't boring from me. The lenght could've been better.. it's still short compared to other tomb raiders but there kicks in the phrase from Ian Livingstone ''Modern day gamers prefer short 'sharp thrill'() rides'' or something along those lines.

I haven't played a game this much in so many years. I'm addicted to Anniversary. The story, the gameplay, everything.. it just screams tomb raider to me.

I too feel that there is something missing in this game, don't get me wrong it is an excellent game to play but it didn't make me feel the way I felt about Legend....obsessed. I replayed Legend over and over again and even though I do with this game, it's just not as fun. I still can't work out what is missing in it though!:( Still it gets a 10/10 from me

I think TRA is longer and more satisfying, basically because it's more challenging and you'll probably have to activate your brain more than twice during the game. When a game's not only short but also easy, I only ask myself if that was all once I've finished it, and then I go and do something else that actually challenges me. How can a game be satisfying when it isn't demanding, when you need no skill at all to survive and progress?

TRA is a great game and I'm enjoying every minute of it (execept for some hours, that got me stuck at the same place at the Obelisk and the Pyramid, I must admit), but I think I know what you mean. When I first started playing TR games, just after TR3 was released, I played TR2 and TR3 at the same time. They were great and still are my favorite games of all time. But when I played TR1 after that, I was never caught by the game as I was by the other TR's, though I realise most people think this is the best of the series. Maybe it's because the environments were very much the same, no matter if you played Peru, Egypt or Atlantis, they were all very grey and yellow. Maybe it's because you stay under ground all the times. Maybe because your enemies are only animals. I think you experience with TRA the same thing that I had with TR1. That said, I have to say I'm very happy with TRA and I know I will play it again when I have finished it ( I'm playing the final level now)

I didn't think I would be addicted. TR1 wasn't my favourite by any means. I preferred TR2 and 3. So although I was pleased they were remaking TR1 I wasn't bothered.

I now can't stop playing the game. I'm even doing the time trials. Which are punishing but really make you find out other ways of completing the game.

When I have all the cheats I will then play the game through again using the ones I find useful and explore all the nooks and crannies of the game.

It is an absolutely amazing game. Not only does it look and sound beautiful but it's not "easy" like Legend and it has lots of replayability. It's demanding without being impossible and it has some wonderful little secrets.

Umm...It's the most thrilling game I've played in years, so no I didn't find it "boring".
