Tex modding w/XNAlara

I used to do in-game mods for tex-mod and love modding myself. I do not mean mesh modding, but texture/skinning modifications. I would love to work with XNAlara. However I do not see any stickies for tutorials w/ XNA for texture modding, or have I just missed it?

i don't think you need any tutorials, basically you do the same thing as you do with texmod modding.

if you're looking for the textures, they're located at the same folder as the model you downloaded, for example, lara_jungle_shorts model has all of its textures located inside the data_lara_jungle_shorts folder, so everything you need is there. :)

You don't need any external program like TexMod to extract and replace textures, because in XNALara, the textures are already in a moddable format (.png) when you download the models.

What they said. :p

Just open the images in whatever editing program you use (like Photoshop) and start working. :D

You can see your progress when you load the model in XNA. Save the changes and click 'reload textures' in XNA, you will see the changes you made. You can keep working like that till it's done.

It would be wise to make a copy of the textures or even the entire model, if you like.

Welcome btw. :)

Right.
OR projection painting on the 3D model (the latest 2 videos)

Or Directly paint on the 3D model

;)

Export the model from XNALara with "File-->Export" as .obj (or .mesh.ascii) and load the model inside Blender 2.5 or ZBrush 4.0, then paint with gimp or photoshop (or PaintShopPro) directly on the surface of the model.
