i just finished mine so i don't need the extension of time(am i ever so glad the writers block was solved just in time. 1089 words(i average in 1000 and 2000 words with my fictions(which includes my lemons for those interested
) that also means chapters of multi-chapter fictions) well i hope you'll enjoy it. and i hope you don't mind the cliffhanger(personally i love those(and i know i said that before)) but please don't dock the story for it if you don't like them. OK without any further ado Lara Croft & Natla: transdimensional stone Lara Croft professional tomb raider and adventurer extraordinaire. Has had many adventures some where even very unlikely and this one is one of those. One day at Croft-manor Lara was doing some research on one of her artifacts when suddenly her doorbell rang. And when Lara opened the door she was shocked to see Jacqueline Natla. But what was the most surprising was that her she wasn't here threatening her. On the contrary she was on her knees in a submissive pose even her wings in a downwards pose proving just how desperate she was. When she asked “Please Lara you've got to help me! I'm desperate and don't know who I can turn to!”. Lara was clearly surprised but and said “Why should I trust you after trying to kill me countless of times?” As you could've guessed it Natla was shocked with that answer and even started to cry when she said “Please Lara you got to believe me I tried everything! But obtaining that artifact is just impossible to obtain. The military failed after my brainwashing the professionals failed. You're my last hope!” Th next words Lara said where “Sorry i'm not interested.” and those words devastated Natla. So devastated in-fact that she couldn't bring her self to chuck a fireball at Lara. Natla sighed and left she also said these last words “I'll have to go back to that deathtrap on my own then.”. Much to Natla's surprise Lara now was interested and replied “Did you say Deathtrap!?!? i'm intrigued please tell me more.” Natla explained which artifact she was looking for, where it was and the thousands of attempts she tried to obtain it. A few days later with plenty of kibble and bikkerish later which had nothing to do with this story so i'm not gonna please you with it. They arrived at the cave where the artifact was located. On the side of the cave entrance someone scratched a not in a weird alphabet. Natla couldn't decipher it but much to her surprise Lara could. And this is what it said “Beware of the Giant stone Guardian.” a few seconds later Lara said “Looks like one of your henchmen must have escaped and scraped the standard Galactic alphabet her as the scrapings are fresh!” Natla just had to ask how she could read it. Lara replied with “I... I... I looked over Alister's shoulder when he played a game that utilized that alphabet. Not that I ever played that game with that somewhat attractive kid or anything” while pushing Natla away and with a peculiar tone in her voice. Natla finally could show a brief smile and said “Liar you're a bad liar did you know that. But don't you worry with the artifact you can meet this 'kid' if that is what you desire. Not that this 'kid' could help you after I got what I want.” Lara was surprised and asked “What is that supposed to mean?” while readying her pistols for a possible fight. When Natla explained “Oh nothing it is just that the artifact or the 'transdimensional stone' as it's called allows the user to travel to any parallel universe he or she desires. Which includes any individuals imagination in-fact who says that this actually isn't happening in someone's twisted mind or whatever he or she does isn't happening in an even twisteder persons mind?”. Lara was displeased by those words and called it crazy talk. If only they know how close Natla was to the truth. Not much later they entered the cave. And Natla lead Lara to the guardian. The strange thing was when the guardian spoke you didn't hear his voice but only the echo. As if the entire cave spoke. The first words the guardian said where “Natla you said you'd show me a force to be reckoned with last time you left and you bring me this woman!” then Natla replied with an incredible sarcastic voice “Oh i'm so sorry Stony I thought you wanted a pushover to fight and not the only person on this planet that has beaten me in battle more then once.”. Then suddenly stalactites shot out of the floor and a stone plate fell on top if it. Essentially caging in Natla. It tried doing the same to Lara but she jumped over the stalactites and so prevented being caged in herself. Then she looked at Natla and said “You coward you let yourself being caged in so you didn't have to fight it yourself didn't you!!!” All Natla did was smile and give Lara a single gesture which told her enough. The guardian tried caging in Lara several times until it realized it was useless. So it tried to impale Lara but it failed horribly at it. A few moments later Lara got bored and shouted “you stupid Golem put up a real fight. Or is your strategy to bore me to death?”. The guardian clearly didn't like that and thus it said “You stupid women how dare you compare me with those inferior walking stones! That's it no more nice guardian!!” and it become more random with it's stalagmites and tites. but that didn't hinder Lara in any way. Actually she used the bigger stalactites as a platform to get closer to the guardians body while pumping it full of bullets. The more lead the guardian ate the faster it created and withdrew the stalagmites and tites. A few hours later the guardian finally agreed that it lost. And so it said “Alright stop already you win. And have the right to use the 'transdimensional stone'. Actually the body you battled was the stone. It contains my life force and is virtually indestructible. but if all my life force is drained it loses it power too. Use it to go wherever you want. But it can never leave this cave no matter in which parallel universe you are. But be you might see things that can make your stomach or have control to whichever parallel universe you end pup in with except from this one your home as it were.” after hearing that both Lara and Natla touched the stone and went to another parallel universe. When they arrived they looked around and saw something that made their stomach turn just like the guardian said. And both said in stereo “Isn't that us? And where doing WHAT?!?!?!?!” The end?

Doppelganger's Vacation I calmly walked down the street, admiring the spring-time beauty of the trees and flowers as I took in their pleasant scent. People passed me by without a second glance, occasionally nodding or saying hello in a polite but uninterested manner. I wore a long-sleeve shirt and long pants to hide the veins, and for my face make-up and sunglasses did the trick. I looked just like one of them. I heard another pedestrian approaching me from behind, which was nothing unusual for the time of day. However, much to my surprise, I felt him put an arm around my waist as he started to say, “Hey! Didn't expect --” Reflexively I elbowed him hard in the stomach. He released me and doubled over trying to regain his breath. I spun around and kneed him in the chin, knocking him flat on the ground. He looked up at me in surprise with confusion and pain evident on his face as he gasped out, “Lara, why?” Lara? So he thought I was her, the one I had been built to emulate. If he presumed this much familiarity with her and she hadn't killed him yet, perhaps there was something worth knowing about him that I would find interesting as well. I smiled and reached down my hand to help him up, “I didn't recognize you. Don't come up behind me again.” He smirked ruefully, “I'll have to come up with a new trick then.” I remained silent with a neutral expression, waiting for him to say something, anything, that would give me a clue about why he was important. “It must be fate that I found you again,” he started to explain, “I've uncovered some new leads and we made such a great team last time...” He looked at me hopefully, clearly wanting me to agree to help him but afraid that I would knock him out. Luckily for him, I was intrigued enough to ask, “What have you discovered?” He was visibly relieved, then he slipped back into his cocky self-assured aura as he showed off his detective skills, “I found out what he was planning.” I pursed my lips, my patience growing thin. He picked up on this and suddenly grew serious, “Karel I mean. I found where he was going to take the Sleeper before you killed it.” “Have you now?” I asked, growing suddenly interested at the mention of Lara having killed something. He nodded smugly, “Cappadocia. There's an ancient secret necropolis built by human followers of the Nephilim. The location was hidden away by the Lux Veritatis using a series of encrypted paintings.” I raised an eyebrow at him with a trace of annoyance and he quickly continued, “Oh don't worry, you don't have to go through all of that again. I've already found the paintings and pieced together the location of the ruins.” I grinned. Perhaps this man was worth keeping alive after all. He grinned back at me, “I knew you'd like that. So, ready to go?” I nodded, “Just let me get some things from the hotel.” After I had stocked up on weapons and retrieved my passport (or rather a copy of her passport), I met him at the airport. I listened intently as he talked to the clerk and bought the tickets. I gathered that his name was Kurtis Trent, he was a frequent flyer, and the clerk was giving him trouble over buying tickets on such short notice. Apparently we would have to go through several hours of being treated like cattle and screened for weapons due to their new safety protocols. Ridiculous. I grabbed his arm, “Let's go. I've got a better idea.” I took him to a secure facility that had once belonged to my creator and attempted murderer, Jacqueline Natla. Amanda had taken control of Natla's company when she found and imprisoned the Atlantean business queen, but she hadn't been interested in running errands. For that she had me. She trusted that I wouldn't be able to disobey her orders, unaware that Natla was really the one pulling my strings, so she trusted me to handle the problems she was too busy to bother with. Several of those problems required the use of a small plane, which I had learned how to fly. Now I was using those skills for my own ends. It felt good to revisit one of Natla's facilities knowing that this time, I was there of my own free will and there was nothing she could do to take that away from me. A light touch on my shoulder snapped me out of my reverie. I turned to find Kurtis staring at me in concern. “I'm fine,” I said, “This way.” I punched in the security codes to release the plane and open the hangar doors. We climbed into the plane and settled into our seats in the cockpit. I turned the machine on, checked that everything was operational and the fuel tank was full, then took off. I managed to get us through an unexpected storm and land close to the ruins without being detected. We left the plane and made our way down into a tunnel system which would theoretically lead to the necropolis Kurtis had read about on his mysterious paintings. Ancient stairs cut into the stone made our way a bit easier, but this undiscovered ruin did not have any modern conveniences such as lighting fixtures. That was no problem for me of course, but Kurtis could not see in the dark. He insisted on using a flashlight which helped him to see, but interfered with my night-vision to some extent. I realized that I could not argue the point too strongly without giving away my charade, so I let him take the lead. Should something sneak up on us due to my handicapped night-vision, then let him be the one to meet it face-first. Our tunnel opened up into a larger area with many different exits leading off into various rooms. It appeared to be an underground village of some sort, long abandoned but still feeling lived-in. Shards of broken pottery and small tools were strewn about on the ground, giving some clue as to what life was like. After getting a good look at the place, I crossed my arms and stared at Kurtis expectantly. “Right,” he said, then pulled a map from his pouch and consulted it before pointing out which tunnel we were to take. This corridor branched off into other caverns with similar rooms, but Kurtis passed them all by without a second glance. He appeared to know where he was going, so I let him continue to lead the way. Finally, we reached the end of the tunnel but there was nowhere else to go. Perhaps I shouldn't have let him lead after all. I crossed my arms again, waiting for an explanation. “Watch this!” he bragged as he knelt down and slid a knife into a tiny crack in the wall. He deftly moved the knife up a few inches and I heard an audible click as the end of the tunnel swung open, revealing a hidden doorway. Very nice. As we entered the newly opened area, I shivered. It was an entire underground city, complete with buildings, and populated by the dead. Pale blue light bathed the place, making everything eerily visible, although I could not see the source of the illumination. The atmosphere reminded me a bit of Helheim. Not the same, but equally sinister. We had barely set foot inside the doorway when I heard a distant howl. My head snapped to face the direction it had come from and I froze, listening intently for further noise. Kurtis grew serious, abandoning his formerly playful attitude, and whispered, “What is it?” I motioned for him to be quiet and we stood there in tense silence for a few minutes. I didn't hear anything else during that time, so I took a deep breath and whispered back, “I heard a howling noise from over there,” as I nodded in the direction it had come from. Kurtis nodded back and drew his gun, cautiously moving forward into the maze of stone buildings that we found ourselves surrounded by. We threaded our way through the narrow streets and alleys of the necropolis. The dead silence was rather unnerving, especially after having heard that initial howl. We made many twists and turns, trying to follow the largest pathway, and eventually we came upon a large town square in the city's center. I froze in the entrance, not wanting to be exposed in the open space with nothing to hide behind for cover. Kurtis seemed to share my unease at the situation. I pointed upwards, towards the roof of the nearest building. His eyes lit up with understanding and he nodded agreement, so we both began to climb. It was short work for me to make it to the top, but Kurtis had a bit of trouble so I had to reach down and haul him up the last few feet. That settled, I turned to look out over the necropolis and jumped a few inches in startlement. Scattered among the rooftops were pale white figures, as silent and still as the stone itself, but clearly alive and watching us. This would not end well. Kurtis cocked his gun, but I placed a restraining hand on his arm. We were clearly surrounded and outnumbered. No sense starting a fight, at least not until we were in a better position to win. He leaned closer to me and whispered, “According to my notes, this part out here housed the humans who worshiped the Nephilim. The Nephilim themselves lived in that section over there, with thick walls and security measures in place in case of a human uprising. If we can get there, we should be relatively safe.” “Good plan,” I conceded, “Let's go.” He holstered his gun so that he would be able to catch himself more easily should he fall off the roof. I led the way this time, confident that I would be able to throw any attackers down into the streets. I hopped across a gap in the buildings and landed lightly on the other side. Kurtis came tumbling after me, absorbing the impact of his landing with a neat somersault. We ran and jumped across the rooftops, making our way around the town square and towards the Nephilim section of the city. We took care to avoid the buildings with the creatures, but even when we passed relatively close by there was no reaction from them save turning ever so gradually to keep us in sight. I almost wished that they would attack already and get it over with. As we drew near to our destination, we finally got the reaction we were expecting. Simultaneously the creatures rose, shouting as one, and began leaping across the rooftops towards us. We drew our guns and began shooting the nearest creatures as we backed up towards the wall dividing the parts of the city. I quickly glanced behind every few seconds to make sure we weren't about to fall off the building, meanwhile the creatures kept coming at us despite the bullets. The creatures who were shot did not appear to feel any pain, although the force of the bullets sometimes knocked them off the rooftops. Their angry screams were nearly overwhelming, echoing all throughout the cavern. Within less than a minute, we reached the wall. I holstered my guns and leapt up, grabbing onto a crevice in the wall and scrambling up until I reached the top. Kurtis glanced up at me in surprise, obviously wondering how I had made it. I drew my pistols and shot a few of the creatures who had taken advantage of his momentary confusion to get too close to him. Then I pulled a rope from my pack, tossed it down to him, and hauled him up before the creatures could get him. The creatures suddenly fell silent and gathered on the nearest rooftops staring up at us, perhaps trying to figure out a way to get to us. I turned to Kurtis, “About those security measures you mentioned earlier...” His eyes widened and he grinned, “Right this way.” He led me to a sort of watchtower in the wall. We climbed the steps and found a room at the top, overlooking the whole lower part of the city. There was also what appeared to be a stationary machine gun. I raised an eyebrow and Kurtis explained, “It uses the power from Nephilim artifacts to shoot energy beams.” I smirked, “And would you happen to have one of these Nephilim artifacts?” His grin grew even larger, “As matter of fact I would.” He pulled a small disc from his pouch which was engraved with Nephilim symbols and he plugged it into the defense turret. The machine came to life with a crackling sound which triggered the creatures to go berserk. They began swarming towards the watchtower, clawing over each other in their attempts to climb the wall and reach us. Kurtis casually aimed the weapon down at them and pressed the button to fire it. A lance of blue energy streamed out and vaporized the creatures that were caught in its path. More flowed in to fill up the gaps and take their place. They were already halfway up the wall. I wondered if the machine was capable of aiming straight down at that angle. Kurtis waved me back, “I've got this covered. You take this and go scout ahead to see if there's anyone else up here.” Fine, have it your way... I thought as I took the artifact he gave me and left him to play with his new toy. The Nephilim part of the city was much smaller and much better-looking. The architecture was more sophisticated and there were more examples of artwork, statues, and generally a higher-class mode of life. I made my way deeper into the city until I came upon a large building which had flashes of light escaping from the windows. Definitely worth investigating. I climbed up to a window and peeked inside. I couldn't see much. This window led into what appeared to be a storage room, or perhaps a morgue, with body-shaped cases lined up on all of the walls. I tried another window and saw where the light was coming from. This time I could see what was obviously a bank of computers, despite the alien design, with a man efficiently typing away at it. His eyes still on the screen, he smoothly drew one arm up behind him and sent a ball of energy my way before I could properly react. I went flying backwards, along with a good-sized section of the wall. As I flew, I tossed the rock slab away from me and flipped to land on my feet in a crouching position. As soon as my feet touched the ground, I lunged forward with unnatural speed and charged at the man, tackling him over the rail behind his computer setup. Apparently the building was dug into the ground quite a few stories because we seemed to fall forever as we wrestled with each other in mid-air. I managed to be on top when we finally struck the ground. The impact should have shattered his entire skeleton, but I felt no bones cracking in his body. I considered drawing my pistols and shooting him, but before I could reach for my guns he began to speak, “You're not Lara.” Great, another of her former acquaintances mistaking me for her... I realized who I was dealing with, “Karel I presume?” He nodded, “Yes, now if you'll get off of me I have a proposition for you.” “I'm listening...” I replied, still pinning him to the ground. He seemed about to protest, but then changed tactics and went right into his spiel, “I am about to awaken my Nephilim brethren, hidden here for centuries waiting for me to arrive. We will usher in a new golden age for humanity. Think of all of the technological advances we could provide, all of the medical breakthroughs we could offer you.” I smirked, “Tried that on Lara, did you?” He grimaced, “Actually I didn't get that far with her.” “Don't feel too bad,” I mocked, “She turned down Natla as well.” He snorted, but made no further comment. I sensed an opportunity to discover what was going on with the computer system upstairs, so I pressed him further, “What else have you got to offer? How does that machine wake up the Nephilim?” He grinned, “Ah, I see you are much more reasonable than she is. Let me up and I'll show you.” He led me back up to the main floor and returned to the computer system, showing me what all of the different buttons did. With his victory so close at hand, he was too excited to contain himself. The technology was similar to what Natla had used, although definitely not identical. Due to my background, I suspect I understood the system much better than he thought I did, else he would not have revealed so much to me. I asked him, “So what is your real goal?” He looked at me sideways and grinned as he inputted the commands to wake up the hibernating Nephilim, “To raise an army of course. Conquer the world and return the Nephilim to their rightful place at the top. You're not human either. You have no stake in what happens to them, so stand with us. It would be extremely useful to have you on our side.” “Of course it would,” I acknowledged, “But how do I know the other Nephilim will see it the same way?” “Not to worry,” he reassured me, “I've conditioned them to follow orders. They will not attack you as long as I forbid them to.” Interesting. I definitely knew how that worked. “Excellent,” I said with quite a bit of cheer as I withdrew the Periapt Shard that Kurtis had given me. I drove it into the base of his skull before he realized what was happening. He struggled, but I held him still, twisted the blade, and quietly said, “You've outlived your usefulness.” I knew he heard me before he died. I tossed his body aside, remaining alert in case he should prove more resilient than I expected, and set to work typing on the machine. It was easy to change a few lines here, add in my likeness there, and start the reconditioning process. This time it would be me giving the orders. I quite liked the sound of that.

oh my gosh, daniel. O_O I laughed at Zip but seriously that was not a funny story, sorry.
She got raped and then pregnant and just... I don't even know. It was a (mostly) well-written story but... geez. I don't think Lara would be that happy about a baby, at all. In fact, I don't think she would let her problem progress to the point of a full term baby. *cough* And I know it's Lara but wouldn't she be more upset? I mean, I only gave her two easily curable STI's and had her kill off her rapists (and would-be rapists, of which most of the bodies belonged to, lol) and generally cope rather well, but she still had a few episodes of falling apart and thinking maybe she was losing her edge. Bleh. Again, a good story, but you were supposed to keep the characters, well, in character as part of the challenge. Oh well. I'm not going to disqualify it or anything, of course, just... not a funny story overall, which is what I thought you were going for.merder: HOT!!!! lol at Lara getting interested by deathtraps. Did they have the whole intro conversation on Lara's doorstep? lol, no inviting her in for tea? WTF is kibble and bikkerish, though??? OMG was that a They Might Be Giants reference? ("Which includes any individuals imagination in-fact who says that this actually isn't happening in someone's twisted mind or whatever he or she does isn't happening in an even twisteder persons mind?”) ![]() ![]() I can imagine what Lara and Natla are doing in the vision from the stone, hehehehe!Jennifer, I LOVED your story. Doppelgänger was perfect... I don't know Kurtis and Karel that well but they seemed great too. Everything was just beautiful. I think I've found my 1st place winner! (Well, unless Rai's wedding story blows me away even more I suppose, hehe). Last edited by aurora89; 28-01-10 at 23:08. Reason: added another review |

I'm sorry to delete your story but after discussing this with another mod, we decided that it is offensive to treat rape as a comedy and was therefore inappropriate for the forums.
