That's sort of what I mean, it's like one big emotional movie The Last Of Us sounds incredible as some kind of indie movie but as an actual game it's like what can they do with it? Maybe alot but nothing sounds particularly special.

And it doesn't help with them shoving: 'we want you to care about these characters' crap down my throat. When it comes to characters, I want to like them because I genuinely like them not because the developers want me to because these characters are 'relatable' or 'immersive' I want to look at them and say: 'hey I like your design, I like your personality' regardless of the situation their in.

And the truth is I really like Ellie but Joel? Hmmm. He's a boring old fart and I'm sure I've seen the inexperienced girl with older protective man somewhere before.

We have to see the gameplay footage in order to know how it plays. QTE was mentioned only once in that article, if I remember correctly. All of that other gameplay could be just that: actually you playing the game; deciding where to go, what to do, etc. E3 should give us a lot more insight.
