I just don't think she's interesting, I couldn't give a crap about her.

I find Lightning very feminine actually, she just got a hard shell but is soft inside.
And she also hides who she is mostly. But i think everyone has its own view about her.

Honestly, I don't get the hate for this game. I guess some people really hate change.

For me, it's the linear gameplay, overdramatic script and unlikable characters. But I do like the battle system.

I liked XIII and I thought it had a great ending. I loved Vanille and Fang, but I like a sad or bittersweet ending every now and then
XIII-2's story is a pile of ****. It completely ruined XIII and kind of rendered the entirety of XIII a bit pointless given what happens at the end.

I agree. I hate it when time travel is just randomly injected into a story if it isn't done well, and it was not done well in XIII-2.

I think time travel was brilliantly handled in XIII-2
There are no plot holes, the paradoxes are diverse, creative and chaotically logical.

You have a point.
![]() I liked most paradox endings, especially the one where they encounter Yeul. But the final ending is so depressing, its unbearable. ;-;

I don't know, I feel the rules of time travel could have been expanded upon. The only information we are ever given is a generic message of the existence of a "paradox" that somehow occurs because the future somehow changes the past...(what?).
I liked its concept as a way to create a branching non-linear story, but I felt the "paradox" explanation was way overused. I appreciated the effort put into the game and how dark the ending was...but I just feel the aspect of time travel really muddled the great story in XIII. At times I felt the game was trying to be deep and insightful but its execution made it sound melodramatic. But at the end of the day, we all get the message we want to from a game because we can identify with different themes that speak out to us even if others don't. ![]() Like I've said before, Motomu has been responsible for some the greatest gaming narratives Final Fantasy has to offer. But his recent decisions have left me quite cynical...SPOILER you don't make fans wait 10 years to play as a character (Aya)then do an eleventh hour twist not only killing her off, but telling you that you were never really playing as her in the first place and proceding to create a time paradox that doesn't resolve anything and introduces more plot holes.
