Final Hours Book...
I just discovered the final hours book. Is it worth buying? It is only 2 dollars on steam at the moment.
I see that there are countless TR related art books. Which one is the best? Last edited by Profc; 14-01-15 at 08:10. |

Actually The Final Hours of Tomb Raider is not just an artbook. It has a lot of background stuff going since TRU ended. You can find many concepts from both the fantasy and horror concepts and many infos about the reboot and its story, chatacters and locations. I learned a lot about the production process from it. And it has all the Final Hours episodes of course.
But if you are looking for the best artbook of reboot it's definitely Art of Survival by Bradygames. |

Thanks for the tips. I got the book. But I am quite disappointed with the constant glamorizing of the Uncharted franchise in the book. They really hammer the point of needing a reboot. In the end I despise the fact that they were right. They did exactly what uncharted was doing and the game became an instant success. I won't deny that. But I will admit that I kind of dislike the direction the game is going for now. I kind of understand where they are coming from. But reinventing the character is kind of alienating me. In order to make her relatable to the other gamers they are making her hate tombs, and other stuff.
According to the book, the other survivors were an after thought and it really shows that. I am glad that they are accepting their mistakes. I have definately more respect for the crystal dynamics now. But I really really wish that they took a different approach with this game. After my first playthrough I have been reluctant to play it again. |

I don't know what it says in that book, so I can only go by what I saw in the game. Lara certainly does not hate tombs, despite what she says just before she entered Himiko's. Considering what she'd just been through, I can't blame her . But you can tell when she looks around and sees where she is, she's in awe. She goes on to interpret the paintings, she seems very knowledgeable on Japanese culture whenever she finds relic. Lara may not have been intentionally looking for the tomb at that point, but the point of the expedition before it all went so wrong, was to discover this historical site and it was Lara's idea. So, imo, I can't see how she's alienating to you,not this part anyhow .
