I was thinking that one way the puzzle may be expanded on (making the assumption it'll be in there to begin with and, lets face it, if it isn't then an important component from the original would be absent) was perhaps the hand is facing downwards, turning the surface of the Midas room / area into gold. There could be many multiple god statues everywhere too.
And because the floor is death by gold, Lara has to navigate to an area of the satue and somehow, perhaps through some mechanical process, turn the hand the other way up and then place lead bars (or whatever they maybe) into gold. Sorry, just thinking of ways to expand on a classic Tomb Raider I puzzle! |

I never played the original, what did she use the hand for?

She used the hands to turn the 3 lead bars (she found throughout the level) into gold placing them in the keyholes at the end of the level to open the final door leading into none other then the CISTERN!

I would prefer a broken statue with a well hidden or camouflaged hand so that I will make the mistake to walk on it, something really vicious.

Very interesting Idea.
Isn't that what you would have supposed to do if the hand hadn't fell off in the first place? |

It would be a cool idea, but the statue is supposed to be in ruins. It is located in an ancient tomb after all.

Good Idea
I always wondered about that. I always had Lara look up and the rest of the statue was missing or covered by rock. I hope they have the whole statue and maybe instead of the hand being on the floor, it could be still attached to the arm and shoulder and Lara got to jump on it. Then she turned to stone and her statue would fall to the floor below with a big "thud"!
