Resumed my playthrough of God of War tonight. Haven't played it in weeks. This weekend I broke a 26 day break from games too - my longest break in years.

Still Shadow of the Tomb Raider, on Deadly Obsession.
Not even 50% into it and I have to say I'm in love. All Rise did (awfully) wrong is gone. Shadow is a proper return to what made TR a masterpiece, with excellent exploration, traps and platforming. I'm in love with the Challenge Tombs. Hell, I've never walked (not run) as much in a TR game in ages, measuring my every step in case of a sudden danger. I've 100% completed Spider-Man and got its platinum, but I haven't had this much fun with SM. It's a pity that Shadow won't come any close sales-wise. |

Still working my way through Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
So far I like what I've seen. The environments and challenge tombs especially look great - there even were a few puzzles where I was stuck for a moment. Human combat is way less significant this time around, which is a big plus for me. I just wish, the devs could have taken more time polishing it. There are some major flaws in the lighting / shadow system (no pun intended), as well as some quirks in the platforming controls. Level design in some points seems outright lazy (you can't climb a ledge that you could before after a specific game event happened without any reasonable explanation (damage to the ledge, etc), passageways open only after a mission was triggered, although gear to open them is available, etc.). I also find it sad, that a lot of areas cannit be explored properly, as you cannot return to them, and entering them triggers a cutscene. All in all I do enjoy it, though and would say it's the better part of the reboot trilogy. |

Shadow of the Tomb Raider, New Game +
54% into it, currently in Cenote. This time I'm appreciating much more how beautiful this game is Foliage looks particularly impressive. And Paititi is quite something too! I wish Shadow had Selfie-styled photograph mode, like Spider-Man. It would be a blast! |

Resi Revelations 2! It’s clunkier than I remember, aiming feels off.

Crysis. This is from the time that videogames, even first person shooters, were good.
