Hail Avenged Sevenfold.
Michael McDonald (born February 12, 1952) is a five-time Grammy Award winning American singer and songwriter. McDonald is known for a soulful singing style and a multi-octave range. He began his career singing back-up vocals with Steely Dan. He became a member of the Doobie Brothers from 1976 to 1981, a period which resulted in several hit songs for the band. Yes, I got this from wikipedia |

He's so 1979.
I loved when he was with the Doobie Brothers, though I was never a real fan of his solo work. Good to see an old fart like him mentioned in the TRFs. He has an extremely unique voice that some say sounds like singing with his mouth full of marbles. It sounds like an insult, but it's not. I'll have o listen to Sweet Freedom. It's been a while. I remember it being a good one from his solos career. My faves are Minute By Minute, and What a Fool Believes. EDIT: Reading marceepaniq's post, I never realized he started out as a back up singer for Steely Dan. Wow. Catch Steely Dan too if you can. There really are not many contemporaries to Donald Fagan's group from the 70s. Catch him too if you dare. Last edited by knightgames; 15-08-11 at 12:34. |
