Microsoft aquires Obsidian and InXile
https://www.pcgamer.com/microsoft-to...nt-and-inxile/
The obsidian deal has been in the works for a while. A bit of surprise was the acquisition of InXile, also an RPG oriented company, known for Bards War 4. I have always been a fan of RPG games and this should mean some interesting games coming from MS in the future. |

Kinda bummed about Obsidian - guess that means we will never get a Fallout Las Vegas 2. Unless MS strikes a deal with Bethesda to have it as a MS only entry. Now that would be a console seller to me.

I'm of mixed feelings on this. On the one hand, backing from Microsoft ensures this small developer stays afloat. It's a hard industry to keep your head above water in, so having dollars from one of the industry giant can be a blessing.
But it can also be a curse, as big publishers are known for snuffing out underperforming smaller developers they own. I also don't own an Xbone, so I can't play any more of their games. So that's disappointing. |
