Baltimore bridge collapse
Watching the bridge collapse so quickly on the news last night had me thinking that the bridge must have been poorly maintained to collapse so quickly after just one support pier was hit
https://youtu.be/YVdVpd-pqcM?si=B4y5Al5Wq4NtaLJl Hopefully the 6 people that are still missing will be found soon The bridge was built in 1977, bridges that are as old as the one that collapsed should be replaced with newer bridges. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.the...e-what-we-know The condition of the bridge will undoubtedly form part of the investigation into the collapse. |

A big thing hit another big thing and the big thing that got hit collapsed. Not really a lot of wonder or mystery to this story
I hope all that happened to be on the bridge were rescued. That entire thing is scary to watch. |

There was the Skyway bridge collapse, back in 1980, same thing, a big boat hit the bridge. Now they have big impact barriers around the bridge piers, so that doesn't happen again (at least to that bridge).
Being that it's Baltimore, I'm sure maintenance on the bridge was less than stellar though. I wonder who will ultimately get the blame finger pointed at them? The ship apparently lost power as it was nearing the bridge. |
