Ok so I don't like how my ps2 games look like on my HDTV. I was wondering if any knows about anything that can make the picture look decent.

I think you can't. the only thing you can do is make it from 4:3 to 16:9...

Another option is to use a PS3 that is compatible with PS2 games. Then, using a HD cable you can upscale the resolution.
Or if your TV has component video inputs, you can enjoy a better picture than standard composite by using the PS2 component cable:

Just for my information really what cable are you using with the PS2 at the moment?
If you're in the US I'd bet S-Video, at best. As laravision says a PS2 Component cable should give you noticeably better picture quality and, as you're probably using US NTSC PS2 games there a good chance they'll also support 480p rather than just 480i resolution. There are far fewer PAL PS2 games which support 480p and indeed many that don't even support the more desireable 60Hz NTSC refresh rate. Widescreen support ie. 16:9 though is a variable across all regions determined by game itself not the cable type being used. |

Yes, I am in the US and I'm using the composite cables that it came with. I didnt even know they made s-video cables for ps2.

Well if you're using Composite now and you're swapping to Component, particularly with a game which supports 480p, the PQ improvement will be very noticeable.
Not sure if there were any official S-Video PS2 cables but there were plenty of independent ones at places like Amazon and eBay. Still were last time I looked. Also FYI remember that Playstation cables, if the output is supported of course, are interchangeable eg. you can use PS Composite, S-Video and (RGB)SCART cables on the PS2 and PS3. |
