It's a gentle ironic moment...
I find it humorous... and it also always reminds me of the famous Indiana Jones moment when he says he hates snakes. Indy hates snakes. Lara hates tombs. It's kinda funny. Without being cheesy wise-cracking, which I applaud. |

Because she's clearly not a Tomb Raider. Despite the title of the game.
Honestly, I've never liked this sentence. It felt rather insulting and totally cringeworthy, like they really tried so hard to make it appear an hilarious remark but miserably failed. "Oh look Lara Croft says she hates tombs, how funny is that ahaha" No. |

Because you're italian and you heard it in italian too. Maybe it's the italian version only that is so serious in that sentence

I don't see anyone being arrogant
Maybe translations in videogames tend to sound more exagerated. I remember when I saw this cutscene in Spanish, Lara also sounded deadly serious in the way she said she hated tombs. |
