Default Why did the developers remove the automatic duel targeting system?

I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but I was watching a video concerning the pre-Alpha build of the game (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vanew3gtFyM) and I noticed at 0:12 and 0:18 that Lara duel aims at two enemies! Yet, this feature was removed from the finished version of the game.
Anyone have any ideas why?
I remember when Core's Tomb Raider Anniversary trailer was leaked, there was a lot of attention over the duel targeting system; if the original Tomb Raider had included this feature, it would have beaten the unreleased Anniversary Edition by a decade!

Guessing that there is a maximum amount of memory for the game to work, and as development progressed, things were added and so some things were dropped or made simpler.

I might be misremembering but I think they said they couldn't get it working reliably without bugs, Lara's arms would go nuts and bend in weird ways with dual targets locked on.

Yeah, that's what I remember, too.
I guess the technology just wasn't there, yet.

Now Tomb Raider isn’t always very realistic… but Lara pointing her weapons at two different enemies simultaneously, tracking and shooting both of them when both enemies could be moving in entirely different directions or patterns - does not seem very human.

As long as the tracking stops once the tracked enemies move away into too large an angle based on Lara's position, I think it's ok. Once, say, 45° on each direction are reached, targeting could go back to single target mode.
That probably wouldn't have felt too awkward, compared to what she's able to pull off.

Even still, if the two enemies are always within 45° of each other, they could still be going totally different directions, e.g. one running around in circles in the distance and one running straight towards you - they would still be within 45° probably… therefore not very realistic for Lara to do. As I said though, Tomb Raider still is unrealistic .
