I suggest 2 things you can do in this scenario. Blender's renderer triangulated the mesh before rendering it. Just like game engines. Some of these tris are facing inside. 1. Select your hairmesh and go into edit mode 2. Ind FACE selection mode, select all faces (A) 3. Go to MESH/NORMALS/RECALCULATE OUTSIDE -result. The other thing that you might want to do as well.
