Worst things that have happened to you when building?
I have been thinking about this for a while, and I am interested to know the worst things that have happened to you when building levels?
Some examples could be power failures resulting in lost project progress, corruptions etc. For example, the only bad situation I've had was a power surge while working on my TR1 style level which wasn't all that bad because I had backups. So, what are the worst things that have happened to you while building levels? |

Completely finishing geometry for an EXTREMELY large cave, only to forget to save and the editor crashed on me.
At that point I had a quick cry and tried again, this time saving every 30 seconds |

When I press " 1 " instead of Q and NGLE crashes...
Or........ EVIL: Unknown object type detected (but if unfixable) And it's funny it also broke all of my backup files, so yeah, it's evil that spreads. Fixed it though, the problem was in wad, which is strange that object got corrupted... Last edited by Raider99; 22-08-17 at 18:42. |

Or... this one!
That happened to me when I cleaned the tex infos of the prj Fortunately I had backup prj's, so I've fixed that in this way |

The 1 key is for Find Texture right? In my case it has only ever crashed once. Lucky me.
The worst thing that happened was accidentally overwriting a WAD with something else. It's not as easy to make backups for WADs as it is for PRJs, so I tend not to make many, unfortunately it's when you haven't made one for a long time that accidents happen the most. The worst thing is that I realized this after building the level. NGLE didn't notice anything as it stayed opened the whole time, but the converted level was full of problems, so I couldn't even extract the objects from the level. |

Promising people that a project would be finished and then something happens and then it doesn't get finished and you let everyone down.

Mainly demotivation, spending hours to build something and then think it's bad or just not good looking... so you build again and it's worst and then you stop for months and realise it was a bad idea
