Default Game wont install

Just picked up the pc version of the game (disc version) but for some reason i cant get it to install. The install menu pops up when the disc is put in but when i hit install it disappears and nothing happens. Is there something wrong with the disc or is it a problem with windows? Im running windows 7

Your CD might be scratched or broken. I remember the same thing happened to me when my Tomb Raider Anniversary CD got scratched. It was a pain to launch the menu and the installation always stopped at some point.

Check if there's anything wrong with your CD or if the disk reader is filthy.

Edit: I found this solution. It might work for you.

I did experience problems running the game in Windows 7 64bit .

To get Tomb Raider Anniversary working in Windows 7 x64, i had to disable DEP (Data Execution Prevention) for the game's executable: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Tomb Raider – Anniversary\tra.exe".

Steps to disable DEP for tra.exe:

open the system control panel
Start Menu > Control Panel > System
Click on “Advanced system setting” under Tasks (right column)
Click on the “Settings” button in the “Performance” section
Open the “Data Execuion Prevention” tab
Click on the “Add...” button.
Browse to the tra.exe executable, the default location is
“%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Tomb Raider – Anniversary\tra.exe”
(and click on “Open”)

Note: the list will now include: Tomb Raider: Anniversary

Click on “Apply” and “OK” button in the “Performance Options” window.
Click on “OK” button in the “System Properties” window.
Close the “System” control panel

The disc is mint, there was a fingerprint on it but i cleaned it and it still gets stuck at around 95%. Searched the internet for a solution but all i could find was people with the same problem but no solution. That one you quoted i dont think itll help me, from the looks of it thats for after its been installed.

The install system tries to "update" your DirectX (no matter which version you have), that's why it's probably stuck at 95%. You can copy all the folders and files from the disc, apart from the folder with the DirectX content, in a temporary folder in your hard disc, and try to install the game from there.
