New year, new art!
During Christmas I menaged to complete one of my unfinished works starring no one else, but Lara. I don´t wanna sound cocky, but I love how it turned out. There´s even a little story for it: There´s a whole history behind this little piece of art. In the highly anticipated game of 2013, Tomb Raider, Lara Croft will have to fight for her life, to become a Survivor. Ironically this work went through exactly opposite process. An art piece that began as an idea of showcasing Lara after the shipwreck, originally called “Survivor” became a portrait of “Before the Storm”. She´s not a survivor yet, she´s not aware of what will happen to her and her crew nor the challenges she will be facing. She´s just an ordinary girl, with an extraordinary passion for adventure and a determination to prove herself that she´s worth of the name Croft. And as second comes my biggest crush (shhh) Billy Unger! Isn´t he just ? |

Your drawings are fantastic and you show great skill with shadows, faded and contrasts.
If I may, I'd give you some advice. Change the paper which you do your drawings. Use Canson paper, for example. You'll see your drawings look more professional with the appropriate paper and better quality. |

Thank you, tampi.
For your kind words and advice too. Currently I'm using Faber Castell drawing pad that I got last summer and I'm quite happy with it. The paper isn't too thin, it has bright white colour and the format is slightly bigger than A3. But as I'm no expert for papers, I'll try to search for the one you mentioned when I'll run out of this pad. thank you again |

Wow, I'm really impressed with your drawings! Mostly how clean they look. Whenever I try to sketch a person, the drawings end up all smudgy and just... blegh. I envy your skills

Thank you Micki!
What about trying a napkin for shading? And putting one between your hand and the paper. That should keep your hands clean and prevent from accidental straks on the paper! |
