Instead of the auto-grab
...you could have a manually-grab! That being a button (hopefully a certain "grab" button) you could press when uintentionally falling of an edge. It has to be pressed in time or else Lara would not make a second-chance-grab.
What do you guys think? |

Yea, I hate auto grab. It's too unrealisitc and I'd rather grab the ledge when I fall instead of Lara doing it automatically.

I guess I'm in the minority... The auto-grab never bothered me. There were a few times when I'd mess up the timing on a jump and she'd grab the ledge instead of going soaring, but that was my bad.
Although, I do prefer the "shift+forward/R1+forward" from the classics. |

That can still be done with Legend.. but pff.. it was only cool doing it after a long string of difficult ledge jumps and dives. The end part of the Lost Valley comes to mind, and the Hall with all the gods beneath St. Francis' Cathedral.

With auto-hold, you can stop in the middle of a climb and look around where to go. That is not possible in the old way, you were very limited in climbing in posibilities during climbing. As for auto-grab, that has nothing to do with new engine. They can only make Lara grab when you press action and then make her hold on the ledge until you release. Auto-hold is just needed for the new posibilities of climbing. Jumping to the left of a ledge to grab a pole and climbing up would be nearly impossible without auto-hold. |

The auto grab never bothered me, to be honest. I quite liked that I didn't have to measure up my jumps, so that they were exactly right; I could be a little off and still grab the ledge.
Overall, it saved me a lot of time and frustration. |
