Default Tomb Raider Lost Artefact Gunflash effect

This might be a bit pointless but I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this but in TRLE I believe the gun flash works differently to for example TR3 Lost Artefact in particular.

I don't entirely know but if anyone understands it would nice.

Basically I imported the TR3 Lost Artefact gun flash into TRLE since I liked it quite a bit, notably its very different to all the classic TR's gun flash I believe.

When I imported it into TRLE while the gun flash appeared to clearly be the one I imported it also seemed like something changed about the texture, its definitely the same but its how it looks when its displayed in game that seems different to me.

In that comparison it might be hard to tell the difference but in TR Lost Artefact the gun sprite is a lot harsher and there's a more defined white part of the flash in the centre, but for some reason in TRLE is seems to be blended or more transparent.

Is there a way to get this gunflash to display as it does in TR Lost Artefact?
Its my favourite and I'm not sure if there's a way.

I tried the gun flash in multiple environments and no matter what it seems that in game its genuinely displayed differently.

If anyone knows a script or what it is exactly that would be nice. Otherwise Am I just mad?

I also assume it works differently (maybe?) Because when I was in Lara's Home in TR3 Lost Artefact the gun flash is the original one but it seems to be not looking as intended visually if you play the actual TR3, it looks like the original TR3 one but essentially broken.

If anyone has any advice or information it would be nice!

Extra: In case I didn't clearly specify I tested the gun flash in multiple environments it genuinely seems to display differently than in TR3 LA.

Maybe it's reacting to lighting from her guns, making it more orange. Have you tried making the mesh have static lighting rather than movable lighting in StrPix?

I've just tried that but sadly the effect seems to be much the same
Still not acting like TR3LA

The TR3:LA Gunflash is not translucent (Semi-Transparent in StrPix), just like the TR1 and TR2 Gunflashes (where there is no translucency)

It does look semi-transparant in jhons0529's TRLE screenshot though.
Does the engine automatically render it semi-transparant?

How about editing the texture and making the center part more white?
The lighter a semi-transparant texture is, the more white it appears ingame.

I would expect that, in addition to what has been suggested above, the rendering of the gunflash in the TR4 engine also involves sprites (not just the object itself).

I suppose it's due to a different gunflash blend color than TR3Gold, you could try to play with those gunflash blend values using TREP's/FLEP's GFX1 Customizer to get at least a similar effect

Speaking of that, you could also try to negate it by colouring the gunflash texture with the inversion of the blend colour.

Honestly I can't tell what I'm looking at in the first screenshot... is that supposed to be Lara's gun? It looks like some glitched object...

My theory is that the gunflash is positioned differently in TR4 than it is in TR3 and would require a repositioning of the mesh in order to get it to match up.

As for the textures, I would start with removing any flags for transparency from them in StrPix to see how it behaves in a neutral setup.

I thought the same thing at first, but there's a shell flying right in front of the barrel that makes it look odd.
