I remember how everyone bashed the story of Legend in 2007, yet now it seems like it was the best story we got from Crystal Dynamics. You have to admit that aside from Holywood style parent drama, the Arthurian myth was one of the most interesting stories we got in entire TR franchise. Shame they did not expand upon it.

It's such a shame; to think that Assassin's Creed has a story that is pretty much the same as what the Legend story could have been: an ancient race with superior technology who's relics (swords in the case of Legend, pieces of Eden in AC) are great items of power and the heroes and villains fight for control over them. Except AC took that story very serious and greatly expanded upon it whereas Crystal D discarded it in the second cutscene of Underworld. It's been almost ten years and I still remember the massive disillusion I felt in Crystal D's writing abilities.

Isn't that basically TR1?

I still think that TR1s background story is very interesting. I wish we could have seen more of it. Vision FMV is still amazing to this day

For sure, but Legend puts such a great spin on it by incorporating the Arthurian myth and changing "Excalibur" into an ancient artifact of unknown origin. Then of course, as is relentlessly bemoaned, we never got to learn who actually created these artifacts or why. To go to lame ass Helhiem? Kill me.
