The "Save the tutorials!" thread
Hi all!
Sad news: George is going to close his Skribblerz site on August 22nd, and with it his immense collection of tutorials. AkyV and I are currently planning on reposting all tutorials here. First as links to Word documents if needed, untill all tutorials have been converted to "TRF thread/post format". This converting will take some time. We will post the names of the creators of the tutorials ofcourse, so it won't look as if AkyV or I have written them all. If you have made any tutorials that are posted on Skribblerz but are not posted here AND you do not want them posted here, let us know that we should skip your tutorial. You don't have to do anything if you don't mind having your tutorial up here. So, if we don't hear from you, we will repost the tutorial(s). Note: This thread is not about discussing why George has decided to close Skribblerz, so please do not ask or speculate or whatever. Let's simply respect his decision and go from here. This thread is about saving the tutorials which George has collected so well over the years, and which are still helping builders all over the world. If you have any suggestions as to what should be reposted here as well (tools, other resources) then please let us know in this thread and we'll look into it. |

Well that just felt like watching my garden burn to the ground without any water left in the well. RIP my prunes, apples and (disap)pears ['].

I was afraid this would happen someday, when the site went offline for a short time in the past I got all scared that the tutorials would disappear. I used to go there very often to check for special setups and tips and I still do, those tutorials are so well written and easy to follow. I hope you can save everything! If you need any help, let me know, I'd be glad to.
Also, are all the level editor tools hosted somewhere else, too? Some that aren't hosted anywhere else would need to be saved as well. (Whenever I need the tools I always go to Skribblerz to download them, so I don't know if.. for example T_Builder can be found elsewhere.) |

You can copy and paste them into WORD, like I'm doing since yesterday.

That's what I've been doing now. So far I have all the tutorials in the "Object Setups" section. And good to know you are also doing it, just in case we miss something. Quote:
And then I'll reupload onto my TRF space. Easier said than done. Webpages are not like Word documents. The formatting (colour and size of text) needs to be done manually, and the images need to be reuploaded somewhere else and the links in the tutorials should be changed accordingly. @Titak, I was not talking about you, but the one who are scare to lose those tutorials without doing anything and wait for someone else to do the job.
