Windows started differently today, is this normal?
Hello
Today when I started my computer, the background was black and there was a tiny window in the middle. Then this other window popped up that said "cannot log you on due to an account restriction" I clicked OK, and in the window that was already there, it said Windows XP, and there was a Username field and a password field. It already said "Administrator" in the username field. So I typed my password and it said something else about it not working. Then I changed "Administrator" to my actual accounts name and typed my password and it logged me in fine. It showed just my desktop background for like a minute, then windows started up fine. It said something about nvpcl.dll not loading or something. Is it normal for my computer to start up like this? Normally it just takes me to the blue windows login screen. Thanks EDIT - I can't start MSN messenger anymore! I get this: The application failed to initalize properly (0xc0000005) Last edited by God Horus; 11-05-09 at 14:20. |

have you added your computer to a domain recently? (check my computer properties) if so... put back into work group mode.

I have not changed anything The day before I had this problem, all I did was log in and check my email and I turned my computer off.

1. What version of IE do you have?
2. Have you installed/upodated any drivers recently? 3. Disable DEP service. 4. Run ARDiag.exe and post the report. |
