Default Xbox 360 Version Question

I was playing on the 360 version of TRA and I collected two artifacts in Obelisk of Khamoon, then died. I reloaded the game from a checkpoint within the same level, and the save was just before I collected these two artifacts, and check my level statistics from the pause menu. According to the game I had collected these two artifacts, so I went to the locations of the artifacts and they wasn't there. Can anyone please explain how or even why this is happening?

Once you collect them you don't have to recollect them. It's a game design aspect deliberated by Crystal Dynamics rather than a game bug.

But collecting the artifact should have never happend, because I reloaded a save file before collecting them, so they should of never been counted for.

Like Ozzman said, the game makes a save as soon as you collect an artefact or a relic. You might get returned to a checkpoint if you die, but any artefacts/relics you've collected won't be lost.

Shame really, there's no penalty for dying in Crystal's TRs.

It doesn't auto save with the artifact because I loaded an earlier save before even collecting them, and they was still there. When I restarted the console an re-loaded the game, they had dissappeared from my statistics.

It does autosave the key collectables. The artefacts & relics are recorded to an overall save, like a system save that remembers all your settings, one that contains your progress with the game as a whole, not just your current playthrough. Artefacts/relics will be saved the instant you collect them and it won't matter what game save you load up after that because they'll be gone.

The game automatically keeps those artifacts once you pick them up just to save you trouble.

If it auto saved the artifact after collecting them, then they should have dis-appeard after resetting the game.
