Kill McAffee's service(s) completely.
How to: - close McAffee; - click on Start, then choose Run and type "services.msc" (without the quotes); hit Enter; - once there, find all of McAffee's services (should be listed alphabetically at letter M); - notice the Status of each of McAffee's services; - double click those services of McAffee (not others) that have status set to Started; - a window should appear; - click Stop; Once you do that, close Services window and try to extract Last edited by SunBeam; 06-01-08 at 00:29. |

I always have Windows' Security Center turned off, as it's annoying. Firewall can work on its own without WSC running. Therefore, go to same services list and scroll all the way down to letter S. Double-click on Security Center and click Stop. You can re-enable it by clicking Start or rebooting..
Try now P.S.: Alternately, add me on MSN and I'll guide you through Cheers! (MSN: drykro@gmail.com) Last edited by SunBeam; 26-01-08 at 11:27. |
