Tomb Share project
This is a separate thread to keep track of our conversation. We are looking to create an online library of assets relating to TRLE where a user can register to create a profile and upload and publish assets (mods.. etc) to their profile. Assets can be categorised, tagged and sorted and reviewed by the community. Tomb Share will be a free community driven project and I will provide the infrastructure.

Personally I want something like modthesims2.com, so a huge site with many categories in which there are different types of files to download. In each there would be information what kind of TR game/engine it is for or what is needed exactly to make it run. People could comment it, ask questions and answer to that, write reviews and give ratings. The list of objects/levels itself would be basically a forum-alike list with thumbnail, title, short description, rating and possibility to open object's/level's subsite (thread) with detailed info.
So, basically modthesims2.com but for TRLE and custom levels EDIT: Oh but maybe with just a little easier overview of the categories, like on trsearch where you get everything visible in the list on the left. Last edited by Caesum; 28-09-18 at 22:50. |

this sounds good. I have a few TRNG scripts and plugins from tmr I'd like to share with the community.

I have tons of ideas to share.
The website can have a homepage with categories like currently popular levels and objects maybe? I believe the levels list and assets list should be separate. Users can search for levels and objects using criteria similar to that of trle.net and trsearch.org respectively. Levels would have genres like and types like trle.net. But since the review system is going to change, users will be able to search how many stars a level has out of 5. The review system would be binary as I mentioned in the other thread. Recommended/Not Recommended. Depending on their percentage the level will gain a number of stars based on a curve:
Assets browsing list can be similar to trsearch or better. Here's an EXAMPLE:

It looks fine but...
This is a forum. This would actually be a good base for TRF, but for a file sharing website, no. You might as well put a subsection in this forum and that'd be the same. |
