You can try EPSXE for Mac. Emulating the PS1 version on MAC is much easier.

Since i've barely used MAC and have limited information about the system i don't know how to get it work. I said it because i know there's also MAC version of EPSXE. You can find info on the EPSXE site. Maybe you could find proper instructions there.

I did find it, and i actually got it to work but it has PS1 graphics also i can not actually play since all the keys are all over the keyboard lol, i cant change them because of the PS1 version thing. So sad

But you can remap the emulator's keys so the emulated PS1 buttons fit the normal PC control scheme.
Here's a quick memo for the PC controls. I don't know for the Crouch and Sprint buttons as I have a French keyboard and I know it differs from an English keyboard but you'll probably find what you need anyway. Code:
