I can't imagine many people finding Lara attractive by the sounds of what she's like at the start of the movie. I was imagining her being a sweet and innocent, quiet/introvert at the start of the movie, and that after returning from the Island they would split due to her complete difference in character/attitude (becoming more distant and hardened) but it sounds like she's unhinged already and completely unfocused and a waste of space. So it doesn't make a lot of sense that she would have a boyfriend, unless he's a waste of space too which he doesn't look to be but we'll see.

He probably only appears for a few scenes at the start and possibly at the end too. I'm guessing he's just in the movie to "humanize" Lara, but I also wouldn't be surprised if these scenes with him are just to hint at Lara's sexuality, and it could work both ways: the fact that Lara has a guy in her life at all might establish that she's straight, but if she shows that she's not interested, you've instantly got the audience and fans speculating and entertaining the idea that she's gay. Cue the endless fanfiction and art.

She has a friend, Sophie, and a male roomate (from IMDB) and a love intrest. In the draft Sophie is the roomie and there's no sign of the other two.

They did some reshoots only with that Nitin guy. It seems like they are including his parents as well.

Well, I've also read the script of the film and I'm quite convinced that it's real.
I also agree with the opinion of those who have read it: it's a disaster when she arrives to Yamatai. I really wanted to see this movie but with this script I'm sorry but no. It may have a good actress and it can be visually stunning, but just fail in the most important thing: the history. |

Lara has four friends (in the bar scene, they will simply be named and expanded their roles)
The part of London is the one that least needs to be rewritten. They have to change everything in Yamatai (but I see the photos I doubt) Last edited by PinkyPromise; 28-07-17 at 08:37. |
