@jessytr the swamp is nothing else but quicksand, something that bothers me is the fact that when lara moves, you see her going through the "texture" without any "track" behind her like in water happens XD without fog ofcourse i always forget to get rid of that but now i didnt XD i gonna delete the lilis as well someone said that in swamp you cant find them there, but i forget about everything Last edited by raiderromero; 23-07-12 at 18:37. |

Sure, the levelbuilder doesn't know how the full area looks at all.
So when someone shows a rock wall, a level is a cavern? |

no we were talking about what textures can be used in a exterior landscape for a "jungle" maybe, for example in TR3 there were several textures because it was a jungle combinated with a kind of ruin, the same with TRU in thailand

I think that swamp looks good, I'd keep the lillies and just add some transition textures between the grass and the swamp muck. Then maybe further away from the edges of the smap, transition to a rock texture.

@raiderromero; You don't have to go all ape **** on me, I'm just saying that the place looks boring with that same grass texture plastered all around the terrain without any transition into mud or moss or rock or whatever... I'm sure you've added tons of 256x256 textures in your .tga and that's wonderful, but THAT is not what a swamp looks like.
This is what a swamp looks like. The area is too bright, why not darken it a little bit with some spots of light in some areas, Waterlilies don't grow in swamps either. Also that green distance fog looks weird, like the place has been contaminated with a toxic gas. I'm sorry if I sound too harsh, but you need to take criticism well. I understand that the way I worded out my comment was a bit rude, but that wasn't the intention. I've commented on one of your screenshots before, the same swamp as I recall and I don't think you bothered reading any of the comments except for when teme9 (no offence intended at all) commented. @TheTiger; THAT IS AMAZING. O___O I want those textures. Last edited by Peanut; 23-07-12 at 19:32. |
