^ I didn't even know they did that. What I'm afraid of is that the picture is very obscure and not a famous or otherwise artistically recognized work at all, and might have been included in the game by pure chance...

Yeah, if it wasn't done by a famous artist and was instead photographed by a Core employee while visiting a country manor, there's a very real possibility it isn't on the internet.

However every other picture was so we shouldn't give up the search.

Y'all wanted someone in blue that may look like a woman in a pixelated word:

Just kidding- although at this point though, I am too invested and actually want to find the darn painting.

EDIT: I'm also thinking that what may appear to be blue to us, may just be armor.

That blue might also be a cape, a rather popular piece of clothing in 'those times', so I wouldn't be convinced it is a female rider...

As far as I can tell:

The horse's pose is different than aidanmalone and laralives posted:
The pose looks more like this:

(back legs are stretched)

the only portrait i think looks very similiar is a portrait of Louis XIV

I'm afraid you both are right. There are thousands of these paintings, it is possible that this one isn't such a famous one and isn't on the internet.

The version from TR2 seems to be a pinch more saturated, maybe I'll try with that one...

I know this isn't correct yet, but looking up women on horseback, this painting's horse and rider looked very similar in profile: maybe something by the same artist (Francis Grant)?

Since most of the paintings, especially the ones present in TR1, are from English history, I think it's particularly incongruous for the painting to be Spanish, unfortunately. I think when we find it, it will be English.

Well, Manet was not English, and his painting is included and doesn't have anything to do with English history...

I wish I knew someone who studies art history, maybe they would have a clue as to where to look...
