^ that is because TRU did not have anything missing from it..
the game was desgined in that way and was delivered the way it was developped... In AOD, nothing delievered was as planned; it had tons of missing stuff... So this means it was not CD delivering a non complete project; it was a mistake the did in the story telling and deviating from the origins of TR gameplay that's it

Hmmm.. it really makes sense to an extent :/ i really would have preferred CORE to continue the series but oh well, it will never happen and i don't wish it nowadays since it's wasting my time
Actually AOD wasn't that bad they should have given them more time just look at how Eidos/Square Enix gave CD 4 and a Half long years for the reboot and look how they only gave 3 years to Core to finish AOD and most unfair of all got fired. :/

^That's one way of looking at it.
Or it could be said that TR was Eidos's only cash-cow when they were crashing & burning as a company (before SquEnix stepped in), so Eidos probably had no choice but to keep Crystal. Besides, if you'd ever compared the sales of Crystal's games with Core's, you might not be so quick to say the sales are representative of taste. Using your logic, people had more taste when Core was making the games.

I don't really want them to touch it again after that massive flop called "AOD".

@Klona The Tomb Raider series was it's best when Core design ltd. was around... specially in terms of sales and nowadays crappy game series like COD, UC etc. have taken Lara's place that is why CD scrapped the old and classic idea and re-imagined the series to get her (or try) to the top again in the most modern way. IMO AOD was an amazing game that never got the time it required (in terms of polishing & development) to show it's fully glory but even flawed it showed some glory in many of the fan's eyes.

But AOD won't even compare to what it was supposed to be.
That's why it's a massive flop right now, that's how I look at it.
