No problem, Playstation systems have always seemed like the ideal place to play Souls games anyway.

Yep. There's old gameplay back when it still had it's codename, and like 20 seconds of off-screen footage from E3.

To sum it up, I get Devil May Cry/Castlevania vibes merged into a Souls game. They may have removed the lock-on system, but it was probably a noob playing and you know how that goes with Souls.

I REALLY hope they didn't remove the lock-on. It's one of the things I love most about the Souls combat system. It was a brilliant idea back in Ocarina of Time and I think it's still really great for improving the feel and smoothness of melee focused games. There are some games like Monster Hunter that play fine without it, but that's because in Monster Hunter you are fighting giant monsters which are easier to hit. For smaller scale, man-to-man battles I think it's just awkward not having the lock on.

I don't think they did. The person playing is probably someone akin to DarkSydePhil who went the whole game (Dark Souls) without knowing there was a lock-on system and probably said "I wish this game had a lock-on system. WOW."

I mean, there's a lot of things I don't mind if they change. All I really care about is keeping the game punishing, and keeping a lock-on if there's melee combat. They could change every single other thing and it'd be fine with me.

From the look of the video, this is just a guess, but it looks like they're changing just enough to keep it fresh. I feel like Miyazaki really knows what he's doing.

Is it weird to say it reminds me of AOD? I'm on board.

I'm not particularly interested in this game, but I must say they did an excellent job in the graphics department!
