Default Let the cutting commence!

Roar used his Twitter and Instagram accounts late yesterday to confirm he was flying back to London to start cutting the movie!

Let's hope we get to see some footage very soon!!!

Sure as hell means we'll be getting a teaser sometime soon, as soon as they sit down to cut some good stuff from the rolls we should be seeing first glimpses!

Makes sense, since it's almost summer holidays and they should be showing something in the fall, at the latest.

I'd expect most of the shots will now have been off the rolls already and digitised ready for Roar to start the cut. They would have been converting rolls as they filmed making note of good and bad takes etc.

One thing to note is that Roar won't cut the teaser trailer - that'll be done by WB and a 3rd party company specialising in trailer cutting. Let's hope we get to see something very soon!!!!

I mean, don't forget that they also still need to colour correct and colour grade the footage, plus any compositing and other VFX work that may need to be done, it will still be a while I'm sure .

You're right, but I guess depending on the order of shooting, the shots requiring visual effects are probably well underway already which is how Roar is able to start cutting the movie. Some visual effects shots like backdrops and blue screens can be done in a matter of weeks.

Colour grading can be done specifically for the trailer too, especially for teaser trailers...

To put this in perspective, the first clips of Wonder Woman (also by WB) which had a LOT of SFX was first released in Jan 2016. That's 16 months before the release of the movie. TR will be out in 9 months, they do not have much time!

^ which is why I would expect something in 2-3 months from now. September at the latest!

Actually, I purposely used "rolls" as a misnomer; I'm sure they shot the movie on digital - so the actual terms would be "clips" - and there was no digitisation need at all. Only a bit of looking around, since the best stuff is probably marked up.

Yeah, I figured that's how they go about it these days. After all even if the movie ends up being crap they want to do everything they can to lure people into theatres to buy a ticket.
