it's not as simple as that. Different games run on different engines. Different engines use file formats that may not be proprietary or are already known. In GTA's case the engine uses Lua for scripting. Modding that game isn't a real challenge at all.

In Tomb Raider's case.. The engine utilises very tight architectures for asset loading. The biggest issue is how their dtp data formats work. Those formats are highly flexible with serious uniqueness per file making it more difficult to understand.

You're not likely to out and out force users to uninstall it if they already have it, like OpenIV did, are you? AFAIK, XPS and XAALara don't automatically update.

I agree that using XNALara for such illicit purposes is wrong. Unfortunately, you can't really stop people from doing it, though the companies in question CAN, by targeting those POSTING such models.

I myself have used XNALara to create renders for a series of Star Trek ship shots a while ago, as well as helping me to pose a model in the correct position before exporting it so I can port that model into a game (the SWBF EA Stormtrooper into Pandemic's SWBF2, before you ask). So your tool has been very useful to me. Thank you for all your work on it.

Yeah, I get that, but who would they sue exactly? Did the authors of the tool give their legal names and credentials to Take 2 at some point? Or would Take 2 go as far as reporting this to the FBI to get the bureau to track these people down by their twitter account?

Can't they just continue development in secret and release further versions on torrent?

I understand the situation, but I don't understand how can Take 2 enforce the ban or carry out the lawsuit...

I hadn't but I just finished a year studying law at college, so I guessed that's how it would work.

I didn't know that OpenIV outright disabled your ability to use GTAO, though. Yeah, like I said in my review on Steam, if Take Two had done even one iota of research they'd have found the truth easily. Or, maybe they did and they wanted to push those people into Microtransaction-Land.

Sounds interesting, but personally I'm more interested in a tool wich can unpack things. I know, there's already one, but not like for AoD.
I'd like to see and hear unused dialogs, musics, object, unused texts and stuff.

Or somehow open the file (in TR 7) terraingroup, to see what is in it...or modding TRA to use the rifle. Since, it's in the game, but unused. (I've seen a video of it, on youtube. )

Yes, I remember that. I was interested in it, but with zero knowledge to hex editor or programming, it seemed to difficult to use. (I was thinking maybe it could be possible to enable the double pistols somehow and stuff, or just replace Lara's model...goofing around.
