Giorgio Moroder, known for pioneering synth disco and electronic dance music, has announced that he is going to be working with Lady Gaga on her next album. Moroder has worked with legendary artists such as David Bowie, Freddie Mercury, Donna Summer, Cher, Elton John, and Kylie Minogue. How about Lady Gaga? I was supposed to be in the studio with her a week ago, but I got a cold. I’ll see her when I’m back. I have about five or six tracks, just basic ideas. Drums, keyboard, bass. I’m going to be surprised, I think – I don’t have a clue about the way she’s recording. Will she play the piano? Will I? So did she call you and say, “I want something that sounds like…” No. I met her about two years ago. She loved me – the usual! (Laughs) And I did a remix for her last year – I did two versions and she took the more traditional of the two. Are these sessions for her album, or yours? This is for her new album – that’s the intention. I was hoping that maybe I can convince her to have one of the songs for my album. If I could convince her, well that would be incredible. (Britney Spears has a feature on his album) From what I’ve seen of her she can be quite spontaneous – if the mood takes her to do something fun, she’ll do it. Maybe! Maybe. If I have a good track that could fit my album but not necessarily hers, that could be ideal. I honestly thought his remix was the only one that was tolerable. And I loved the synths that he used for the track. I'm excited to see what they come up with. Definitely getting dem Fame vibes. (She is going back to her roots after all :3 ) |

I don't know how I feel about this. His own stuff is a bit... I don't know not exactly basic but it's not the overly complicated, multilayer, head banging composition GaGa tends to go for. Though, she did say she wants to suprise with this album. Looking at his recent song with Kylie and the two other tracks that are available to listen to from his new album he sounds similar, although more toned down, to songs like Fashion! and Bad kids so I guess he could produce some good results. So, that's supposedly Moroder on board with 6 potential songs and RedWine back in the fold. Sounds like she's gonna go for half experimental, half familiar yet potentially still experimental.

That is a bummer if she's gonna do a surprise album on her next album and keep it a secret.

Perfect for Gaga, imo. I hope the other producers will be just as fitting. |
