Some textures need a reconstruction in 3D in order to be faithful to the original texture.

Agreed.. SO much better.
Before it looked too ''flat'' if that makes sense - it was bland. Now it looks amazing and faithful - while still being your own work and HD |

This seems to be in style with what they did with Lost Artifact expansion. When I first played it I got tricked into running into such 3D walls, it greatly improves immersion by removing some of the blocky world structure effect.

From what I remember TR3,4 and Chronicles used actual photographs for their textures - whereas TR1 and 2 were drawn digitally. Thats why they looked more 3D and detailed. Couldn't you just use a similar texture from the internet? Obviously photoshop it to blend in, but should be easy enough, right? |

At first I did it in Photoshop, but since this texture appears in a lot of places in the South Pacific levels, I wasn't happy with how it looks, so I decided to do an extra work in it... It was not that difficult, I already had the skull model made, so I just put all together and made the materials in substance painter... so it was done in 30 minutes or so... |

Would love to see another video preview with how it looks more recently.
