PC refuses to boot entirely, after cleaning it out completely.
Okay, so I did a complete clean to my PC just now, took me a good 2 hours
But when I turn it on, it refuses to boot at all. All that happens is it turns on with all the Phase LEDs on the mobo and all fans spinning, then it turns off. This is happening in a Loop. It refuses to boot at all, it doesn't even get to BIOS When I say completely I mean to go as far as taking the Cases fans out and dusting them... Last edited by TRfan23; 30-12-12 at 11:21. |

Check all the connections, especially CPU and RAM modules, CPU heatsink to be tightly in place and GPU properly set and given supplementary power (if necessary).

They are all definitely seated tightly in place, I've done many checks :/
I should probably also add that I used these to dust it, since I don't have any compressed air (should have bought some tbh, don't know why I didn't) I was sure they were anti-static... Last edited by TRfan23; 29-12-12 at 16:38. |

Flush BIOS settings via the jumper on the mobo (RTFM), then try entering BIOS setup again.

Nope didn't do anything.
It just turns on and then quickly turns off again before I can do anything at all. The mobo doesn't beep. It's like its in a continuous infinite reboot loop Last edited by TRfan23; 29-12-12 at 17:07. |

This sounds familiar, make sure that the power button aint broken/stuck, it's the most stupid reason a PC might go bad but it was the reason mine started acting up about two month ago. When you confirmed that the button works the way it should (mine was stuck pressed inward so Automatic Start and Shut Down on infinate loop), try checking the frontpanel cable on the motherboard, from what I've experience that's also usually the problem it shuts down for no reason

^ I can guarantee you that the power button is fine
Okay so the PSU is fine as I followed this: http://www.corsair.com/en/blog/testi...r-power-supply The graphics card is fine as I tested it whilst it was out, and it did the same thing. I've disconnected the Blu-ray drive, HDD & SSD. All I can think of is there being a problem with either the: CPU (I never took this out or removed the Heatsink, so this could be ruled out.) RAM Motherboard Decided to take a video of what happens: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nbYMJNzrxII Crap camera so bad quality. Last edited by TRfan23; 29-12-12 at 18:27. |

When my computer did that; it was a USB in the drive. Is there a flash drive connected?

Have you tried booting with no RAM, no GPU, and no HDD's attached?

Yes I have and it still refuses to boot.
So it boils down to the Mobo or the CPU now. It does make me wonder, if any dust somehow got stuck between the heatsink and CPU, could that fry it? No just the HDMI Cable to my monitor. Last edited by TRfan23; 30-12-12 at 11:25. |
