I'm not quite ready to make an "official announcement" or anything, but in my spare time I've been building a new resource sharing website. A "successor" to TRSearch, you could say. I shared the idea with Dustie earlier this year and he's been kind enough to offer me some great constructive feedback (thank you Dustie!), but I'm only a novice with a very small amount of formal education on web development. In other words, it's slow going. I'm happy with the work I've done so far, and although it's slow, I am steadily making progress. Again, this isn't any kind of formal announcement or guarantee, but barring any major setbacks, I think I'll have a beta version of the website up and running by Christmas time. Again, I can't make any guarantees at this time, but our community really needs a new outlet for custom content and that's my driving force behind the project! In the future I might ask for some testers and opinions/requests on features. At this time it's still too early.

Fantastic to hear that! I wish you good luck with the website. I think we really need a place for sharing these things again.

Why don't we make a thread here where everyone posts their objects etc, and then update the opening post with a list of all the objects in categories?

All off-topic messages would be deleted, so it should be easy to navigate too. For me, that sounds like a good idea.

Or even, replace the new builders section with "resources" where everyone makes a new thread for their new object/texture/audio etc etc.

There's a lot of risk with dead links. It's gonna be difficult to search for what you want when there's a 30 second wait time between searches. =/

I was just wondering about this myself... There are some really old uploads and double uploads I would like to have removed from trsearch but it seems like that'll never happen.

I guess what I could do is link to all my uploads via mediafire instead.

I like the idea of a "master thread" for all of peoples' works, but it sounds like a huge undertaking.

Is Lara's Levelbase still viable or no?

Lara's Levelbase seems fine, but I guess no one ever posts there anymore
Honestly I don't know why, because it's another amazing website.

The site's layout isn't exactly intuitive.

I've been there so many times and I always forget my way around.

Yeah that's true... I can't remember why but there was a reason I never started uploading there. Maybe there was a filesize limit, not sure.

So I take it that trsearch has a new owner and that is why it's in limbo at the moment?
