Arrow MLG New rules.

Just got this from MLG (Don't know why they still have me on their VIP list. Told em that I left the W.O.L.F Clan ages ago.)

Anyway, anyone participating in the MLG tournaments (Yes... limited to the U.S. only,) you need to look up the new rules. Basically.... They suck.

Quote:
MLG has instituted new rules concerning team and player names, effective immediately. These rules apply to both the 2007 Pro Circuit and all Online Tournament activities. Please read through and familiarize yourself with the rules below, as there will be no exceptions to them.

Team Names
1. No web addresses
2. No use of the word "Team"
3. No use of the words "Gamer" or "Gaming"
4. No Derogatory or Suggestive Words/Meanings
5. No corporations, company, sponsor, or product names

Player Names
1. No web addresses
2. No team name abbreviations
3. No Derogatory or Suggestive Words/Meanings
4. No corporations, company, sponsor, or product names

Important Notes
-Players are still encouraged to reach out to potential sponsors. Although these sponsors can't be represented through the team's name, players may wear sponsor t-shirts and/or other apparel except when appearing on the main stage, in the MLG Pro Players Lounge, or for media appearances/interviews.

-If/when MLG provides player uniforms, sponsors may have a patch on the uniform sleeve. Please note that players may be required to wear official MLG apparel if/when appearing for MLG content and programming (e.g., MLG TV show) or within MLG's stage sets (e.g., main stage).

-Teams from the same Clan can use the Clan abbreviation in their team name. However, these teams must be differentiated by more than a single letter or number.

They really don't look too harsh to me, lol. What's the problem?

Well see the thing is if team names happen to be linked to sponsors like Ubi-Soft for instance, you can't use em Lol! So... I guess the Fragdolls have a slight problem.

No matter... The Frag Doods will just pick up where they leave off LOL!

It also sucks for clans who have the word "Team" included in their clan name.

For example; Take the clan "Team Rockets." Changing the name would just be tampering with tradition Lol!

Well its a pain in the back side for most professional clans who have to rework all their sponsor scheduals and such. But hey... No one ever thinks about the big guys .
