I wouldn't advice to change the meshtree completely tbh. Some number of meshes can be hardcoded for certain enemy and it's behavior. Like, sas and troops enemies have mesh 8 coded as head which watches Lara when she moves around. And other enemies can have certain meshes marked as attacking, etc.
Btw, don't spend too much time on TRLE-related stuff, the health is more important thing

Of course I know about these hardcoded meshes.
Right now I'm limiting my PC time to every second day.
If my back doesn't hurt too much.

I had to remove his poor tail because Strpix almost explode when I imported such many polygons fjdkdsfkjasd

You can make the tail in another mesh or another static

Hope it fits well with the rest of the mesh

EDIT: He already has his tail back


It doesn't convince me at all, maybe I'll polish the tail a little bit more.

Its easy to do - I do it all the time (mainly collision issues)

For example, I had a statue that narrows at the base and had a massive ears - so using auto collision boxes were a big no no (Lara would hit an invisible wall near the base) so I split the model in half and made it into 2 models.

You can literally have one big model, select which parts you want to 'delete' and the paste it as another ''layer''
Then simply save each layer as a seperate object. Place them on the same tile and they will fit perfectly together - with enhanced separate collision

EDIT: Maybe add some flicks of hair on the tail too - like you have with the mane
