Woohoo. Still no date though which is annoying. I just wanna know!
I'm glad the trailer doesn't show any enemies. Usually we just get shown everything but from that trailer we still don't know much at all. |

This may be the first season without any enemies at all. No conflict, no adventures, just the new Doctor and some new companions having hour-long philosophical chats about the universe over tea.

By the time we've been exposed to episodes from the author of "Cyberwoman" and "Dinosaurs On A Spaceship" I predict people will miss Moffat.

If you're interested, Humble Bundle are currently selling a bundle of Doctor Who and Torchwood audio stories.

I thought I had already posted it, must've been another forum. But I purchased it and you get over ten hours of content for just $15/€13,50. It's a terrific deal!

Out of that Humble Bundle, I've only downloaded Torchwood - The Victorian Age. Gonna give it a listen within the week. Interesting to hear Queen Victoria with Captain Jack.

However, I do think many of the doctors have shown too many similarities and normally end up falling into the 'wacky and werid' trope. I wouldn't mind a more serious Doctor with the odd silly side. From what I've seen so far of Jodie she's reminicent of Eccleston's doctor who, while he had his quirks, wasn't as wacky and daft as those who came after. Maybe they're going for the same strategy Eccleston's doctor had then, to reintroduce people to Doctor Who by playing down the wackiness to an extent (I say extent with stories such as Aliens of London) and a less eccentric doctor. Capaldi was great with playing down the wackiness at first, but I think they went too far the other way of making him too serious in Series 8 then a bit too goofy in Series 9. Didn't quite hit the perfect balance until Series 10 which is a shame. Chibnall has said he made Series 11 under the assumption you're a fresh face coming to Doctor Who.
Which I think is kind of needed honestly. As much as I loved the Capaldi era, it veered dangerously close to continuity lockout in some ways. So much so I recall in at least a couple of occasions in Series 10 with playing up Classic Series references at least 40-50 years old as major plot twists, with no concession to a new viewer who might not be familiar with those elements.
