Question

How do i modify scripts as to enable the horizon and rain on certain .TR4 level files? (ex. Tomb Of Set.) I'm new to TombEditor and was wondering if this is a feature in it.

For now you have to rely on the old script editing methods, that is the old script.exe (on 32-bit systems) or TRNG's script tool in NG Center.

A few quick questions, though I'll have many many many more when 1.2.0 comes out lol:

1. Will this new editor allow for TR2-3 flares, or is that still hardcoded as it is in 4-5?

2. How do you replicate the spike/glass floor from TR2-3, also playing the correct death animation as in those games?

3. How do you make a trap activate when Lara touches a certain trigger/floor tile? For example a rolling boulder or wall slicers?

4. Finally, how do you make those laser traps and electric wiring traps as in TR5's Red Alert level?

Many thanks in advance.

1. Not at the moment, you can use the features of supported engines, which is TR4 and 5 now.

2. You can do that with TRNG afaik.

3. Refer to the TRLE manual.

4. Sadly there aren't many resources on TR5 and level editing due to TRLE's lack of support for it, but you might be able to find some references in DXTRe3D tutorials or using FexInspect to investigate original level files.

Since the creator of Tomb Editor is reverse engineering TR5 will that mean it'll be possible to port things like flares from TR2/3 to TR5? Or other things from it like the ring inventory.

I think both of these things are possible, more or less, by using FLEP! I have red flares and old school spikes in the level Iím working on now.
