I would've been more excited if they had adapted TR1's story into this, but for now I think I'll pass.
The last thing Lara needed is more daddy issues. I don't know why try to shove it down our throats.

This was my initial reaction.

Well TR2 can't get any worse than it already is, so them ****ting all over it is welcome on my part. As for the daddy part I've started to accept that Tomb Raider can no longer function unless Richard is mentioned/involved somehow. I forgot what it's like for Lara to actually go Tomb Raiding for her own achievement.

I do agree. The wording seems very awkward to me, like it was written by someone whose English isn't too good.

edit: I posted this is the gen TR movie thread, but I find this description somewhat different to the IMDb one. I think it's worth noting:

But this version of Lara comes with a new backstory, and a new motivation for her adventures: seven years after the disappearance of her father, 21-year-old Lara has refused to take the reins of his global business empire, instead working as a bike courier in London while taking college classes. Eventually she becomes inspired to investigate her father’s disappearance and travels to his last-known location: a tomb on an island somewhere off the coast of Japan.

no matter what, I'm already happy with first official images and the idea that plot is not reprising reboot story. AWE

Anyone can update an IMDb plot synopsis. This is obviously fan made.

A bike courier? That's adorable!

I'm sorry but how many more iterations of Lara can this fan base handle!

Her father's "global empire"? I don't get what this means. He has a company now?

Shaking my head at everything, but then again, the movie's not for me so my complaints would sound completely useless.

Just one relieving thing: no mention of the Dagger of Xian according to the new synopsis that came out yesterday. That's good.
